Please make sure to check before posting a breaking news to make sure its not duplicate
Posting House Keeping
When you see bunch of posts in New all posting the same news - it means no one is bothering to even check the feed before posting.
But sometimes people miss the first post but then see the duplicate. So duplicates are not all bad.
Also be sure to use the actual title of the article you post instead of making up your own. The search function works great but it can only work if it's the original title of the article.

Iβve posted same time as someone else occasionally, and when I do, I delete.
Same time posts are ok bc the other post is most often not yet up when you are busy making your own. The posts that rehashes other IDENTICAL posts made 30 minutes or an hour or 2 beforehand are the guilty ones(prob looking for easy updoots).
Yup, correct. I donβt need upvotes because Iβve been here a long time.
Yep done it several times..
Then explain why multiple posts of the same news story frequently get stickied.
I'll do it: because mods, like everyone else, also can't afford to spend an hour scouring the feed for dupes first
Sometimes posts come from different angles. Sometimes, myself, I will post a sticky because the photographs inside it were better and more interesting
Exactly. "Identical post" means 100% identical. Multiple different sources of the same event will have more or different information.
I don't mind seeing a flurry of posts on the same thing.
That tells me it's probably real and not just fake news or rumour.
Before I post I like to use the search bar to see if it has been posted before but than again that does not always work either.
Yes...same for me! I searched with the exact title and a mod told me that doesn't always work and recommended using key words, so that's how I search now.
I also try using keywords as well and sometimes that works as well.
True.
Yeah thats a big limitation in the platform
I see 2 duplicates about the SC decision stickied right now. Ones a twitter link, one is a GA.win media image of a tweet. Mods don't help by sticky-ing the dups. (imo)
https://greatawakening.win/p/1ATBhGkbsS/-supreme-court-hands-preside/c/ Will you please delete this post, something wierd going on and i can delete myself...Been trying to no avail....happened on My cell a while back... Thank you
Sorted fren, it is easily done (fat fone fingers ftw!).
Seems I can only reply and interact on my cell phone and not my PC which is fucking weird because last week it was opposite... π€·π»ββοΈππ§π€
I was having issues with one of my browsers (Vivaldi) last week, couldn't interact with some posts. But it worked as it should after I updated the browser.

Thank you, u/bubble_bursts. The 1-day vacation hammer is always nearby! Just everyone please be considerate of your fellow frogs. We appreciate you guys!
You're forgiven if they're a few seconds apart. Sometimes one gets posted in the time between you checking and posting.
And most importantly, DON'T USE A DIFFERENT FONT. Words in a different font can't be detected by our search!
You. are forgiven for a lot of things.
Sometimes we allow (and even sticky) same topic but different titles that put the topic in different contexts.
Our search feature is limited, so we make allowance for that.
Sometimes we allow a new duplicate post to be stickied the next day if the topic is very important.
Other times, a duplicate post might have had nice conversation going, so we leave it up.
But the thing most important to make sure is to check the New feed to make sure we don't spam the same news at the same time.
I didn't even realize it was you that posted this. Sorry.
Kek. This is essentially the point here. I think its fair to say that duplicates, in an of themselves, are not necessarily problematic. The problem is when they agglutinate to form spam.
Example: Duplicate posts (duplicate content) posted 8 hours apart, over a 24-hour period, can be useful because frogs logon in different time zones, and news posted 10 hours ago might be missed completely because of the board filling up.
IOW, Work together, frogs, to avoid SPAM.
(Spam might be great at a Korean wedding, but not on a web forum aiming for quality.)
Disclaimer: Clumsy and possibly redundant effort at emphasizing your point.
Did you know that spam fried rice is a fantastic quick cook comfort dish ?
If they use the same headline but most times its not...
Amen Brother.
When the call went out for Mod volunteers the other day, I considered offering that I would agree to moderate only in the area of duplicate post notification. I would tend to moderate this activity with a very kind hand and only in the most gregarious instances. Most duplicates are just oversights and not intentional. No one is perfect. And if duplicate post are made within minutes of others, that is just a matter of timing, and most members police themselves.
In this role I would not have the power to delete any duplicate post, but only make comment to member that duplicate post, or multiple duplicates exist.
Also make sure that it's current news, and not a decade old rage bait.
I understand the housekeeping aspect of this complaint. However, I must point out that not all of of us are able to scan the Great Awakening before we post. Keep in mind that some of us are not as Internet savvy as others. Moderators will, I hope, police this great gathering of freedom loving people of this redundancy.
Some of us are busy raising families and working 40-60 hours a week.
I will state the obvious. 95% of the people here are here attempting to contribute towards our common goal. Freedom. Happiness. Purity.
There are people here, myself included, that work a day job and are only trying to help anyone that is in a similar situation and even those of you that have a lot more time to be hyper informed.
I'm always afraid to post anything here because of reactions like this.
Please, oh please, be tolerant. It's my fear that complaints like this could push away patriots that mean well.
I made an earlier post about this very issue
Searchable Keywords! Make sure to get it in there. π€
Oh I wish so badly we had this, fren. Sadly the platform has a lot of limitations, and keyword search is a big one.
We are, btw, working on this.
