If the NY Times claims it's true... it isn't.
If more than 4 main stream news broadcasts inexplicably use the exact same language as each other (as if they're reading the same script) to describe an event... then it didn't happen that way.
If the event is jumped on by Democrats as an excuse to take away our rights... then the basic incident may have happened, but not in the way they claim.

Once you figure out the truth twisters (MSM, Snopes, "Fact Checkers") it becomes easier to reverse-engineer if something's actually true and you're "over the target" for more research because of the flak you take.
It took millions/billions of our tax dollars and time to develop/steal all the tech and other items. One or two people pointing truth out on the web brings all of that to a screeching halt.

Always dig a little before reacting, before buying. Digging a little (it may be as small as reading a few comments on an X post, as per PB) aerates the soil, and lets in light.

Can be used interchangeably, I suppose if you are both. But being a frog with dot connecting skills doesn’t necessarily make one an autist. Some of these autists are on a whole ‘nother level. My .02.
Also don’t completely trust anyones reporting on it. Most people ultimately have agendas and preferred narratives to events and they often seek to make their preferred narrative the accepted version of events. Whether said version is true or not. Some often also don’t consciously realize they do it. So wrapped in their preferred way of viewing the world.
It’s especially important now. It doesn’t cost much to bribe up a network online to try and manipulate people and sway opinions this way and that. Hell it’s an entire market all its own these days.
I'd like to add some that I think are very important.
Be aware of how much you WANT/DON'T WANT to believe something affects your opinions on it.
Confirmation bias is a real thing. I'm not saying that something is true or not because of your personal beliefs on it, but just be aware of it.
The more strongly you feel about something when you first hear/read it, the more careful you need to be about it.
There are too many people out there who are extremely skilled at manufacturing rage, hate, and fear porn just for clicks. Don't let them manipulate you for their profit.
Please do at least the most basic of fact checking before you share something. This is supposed to be an elite research board. As such, basic fact checking should be the norm.

Another former source of data, was the wire service. In the old days raw news was broadcast around the world. Then picked up and ran by the various outlets. If you monitored the wire service, you got the raw news before the conglomerate twisted it into bullshit.

When I was young I could not for the life of me understand why a) tabloids were prominently displayed at all grocery store checkout aisles, b) how anyone could be stupid enough to want to read them, and c) how such low end trash could possibly stay in business, despite item (b). It was not until I learned that they were paid for and published by intelligence agencies (several layers removed) that it at once made sense. The world of esoteric ideas was foreign territory to me, and what he explained was eye opening. I feel I owe it to him to go back and re-listened to his broadcasts a second time, start to finish.
On point two I'll be honest with you in admitting something I can't figure out. To this day I am puzzled by the timing. Rumsfeld was one of the architects. So why not schedule the press conference for September 12? Then Ooopsie, and it's completely forgotten about. Why hold it on the 10th? A perverse flex? It remains one of those loose threads that should never have been a loose thread, a tear in the fabric to unraveling the deep state.

If someone ran up to me with 'breaking news' --so and so kissed a girl or Johnny has a black eye--I would just say 'ok' as I watched everyone do their 'breaking news' dance and speculation. I would look and say, yep Johnny has a black eye and so and so has lipstick on their face and keep it moving. Who gave Johnny the black eye or so and so the lip stick is what I always want to know... see Johnny wants attention and hits himself in the eye is always a possibility to me and likewise with the lipstick. My mother ruined me at a young age and critical thinking is a side effect of that.
