The older the Mac, the more hoops you have to jump through to run Linux. The Core2Duo Macbooks run it nicely, but there are some workarounds for certain things that need to be done (i.e. Wifi and dodgy trackpad operation). For real fun, try running Debian Sid on a PowerPC Mac kek
One of their favorite tactics is to attack how you say something rather than the content of what you're saying. When that happens, I point it out to them, tell them I'm done talking to them, and walk away while they wail and gnash teeth.

I'll add that, luckily (or not), they still use the same, tired tactics that they've used forever, but they, by and large, no longer work. If ego could be fully removed from the equation, from ALL points (an impossible task, natch), it'd be all over for them.
