I hypothesize it works with writers signing nda's and receive a list of items to try to include in episodes and each one they include they will get a cash bonus. Maybe certain messages are higher priority and pay out more. The writers don't care because they are talented and can improvise scenes, jokes, phrases, ect not ever really understanding because why bite the hand that feeds you.
