I highly recommend a keto, ketovore, or even carnivore diet. Carbs are not necessary for life, (my t2 father in law vehemently disagrees with me as he take more medicine so he can eat potatoes). I eat something pretty close to a keto diet (I probably do fudge on the carbs, I eat a fair amount of tomatoes, nuts, and avocados). Complex carbs are not better for you than simple carbs; they all turn into sugar in the body.

Cholesterol is not the enemy unless inflammation levels are extremely high. Statins are terrible and will raise blood sugar. Instead, a supplement like berberine can be added; it's effectiveness is similar to metformin without the side effects and it aids in lipid metabolism as well as blood sugar management.

Also, a huge part of being overweight and struggling to manage blood sugar is insulin resistance. Too much insulin stores fat which in turn, makes your body less sensitive to insulin, so you will store even more fat. That's why a keto helps; high fat/moderate protein/low carb keeps your blood sugar naturally lower and reduces the flow of insulin. Stop snacking and give the body time to rest between meals; every single bite of food, or flavored drink (even if it is sugar free) causes the body to release insulin which makes insulin resistance worse (think drugs...the more you take, the more you need). And build muscle; the more muscle you have, the better your body will utilize the glucose it has. Edit: It doesn't take too much of a time commitment; I work out 20-25 minutes a day (most days) with light dumbells and have seen really good results paired with the low carb diet!

Check blood sugar often (just a little cheap monitor from walmart is fine). If it's too high, too many carbs were eaten. After meals should be less than 140 (two hours after the first bite) but returning to baseline before your next meal is as important as the after meal numbers. Since July, I have never seen a "bad" post meal number, but when I first started on my journey to reverse prediabetes and insulin resistance, the number would take way too long to drop back to baseline (around 100).

Good resources are: Dr Ken Berry (carnivore, he's on yt and rumble), Neisha Berry (Dr Berry's wife, on YT, ketovore), Dr Boz (Keto, yt, not sure about rumble), Dr. Bikman (yt, maybe rumble), and any Callie and Casey Means interview you can find. It's hard but not impossible to reverse with a little motivation!

To be fair...I (and a lot of people I knew) was also vehemently anti-Trump in the beginning. I assumed he was just looking for attention. Then I heard him speak a few times, and it occurred to me that as a business man, he was probably just the right guy to fix (at the very least) the financial issues we have in the US.

I figured somebody here would get a kick out of this...my mom asked me to order two copies of a book called Freedom Must Not Perish. I just added them to my cart; with shipping the total is 17.17.

Yes. We don't use Sarah Sanders' LEARNS Act because of the requirement that I must test my homeschooled children if I use that money. It's great that it's there for those who don't mind testing their kids, but, as I told my husband, we will use the library and free resources and I'll make up the curriculum as I go if it ever comes to it; I WILL NOT measure my children by the state's yardstick.

I don't know if this is relevant, but the USMCA Treaty is the United States-Mexico-Canada treaty, it was signed on July 1, 2020 and basically replaced Nafta if I understand all this correctly. It has nothing to do with the Marine Corp or the Army (at least it doesn't appear to). Full disclosure though, he lost me a few minutes in when I looked it up and it didn't seem to be about our military, so maybe he addresses that later in the clip and I just didn't stick around to find out.

Has anybody seen this: http://www.votejesus2024.net/index.html ? It's literally telling people to write in the name Jesus when they go to vote, and I think there are people falling for this BS.

I think if complete removal was ever accomplished we might finally see real scientific progress toward remedies. We already have some remedies (high dose vitamins, ivm, fenben, etc), and maybe without the crutch of vaccines, doctors would be willing to use those again.

I heard a commercial on the radio earlier about getting your updated covid shot and flu shot at the same time. Pretty sure that was causing people to have strokes, but I'm sure the idiots will be lining up again this year.

This is inaccurate. We don't need carbs (at least not in the sense of the word meant by modern medicine). If I had listened to the nutritionist who told me to "eat half a dinner roll with your meal" when I had gestational diabetes, I would have absolutely been pumped full of medications and insulin by the end of my pregnancy. Instead, I ignored her advice and ate protein with vegetables and a few nuts as my carb sources and managed to keep my blood sugar levels in check without medicine; and my GD baby is the most metabolically healthy person in the family (vs my two probable but undiagnosed GD babies who trend toward the chubby side).

Currently I'm working on getting myself out of pre-diabetes territory because I am insulin resistant (and probably have been most of my life) and if I followed my doctor's advice to "just make sure your blood sugar is under 140 two hours after you eat" and "focus on eating more complex carbohydrates," I would never be able to dig myself out of this rut and my insulin resistance would get worse with each passing day, inevitably leading to T2 diabetes in a few years. Fat and protein have been demonized, but they are the best sources of energy to keep us stable and healthy! Since I cut most carbs out of my diet (I eat a veggies and a handful of nuts and raspberries every day but primarily PROTEIN), I have SO MUCH ENERGY! And weight is finally melting off (something I've struggled with most of my life). So no, "everything in moderation" is not an accurate statement (ask any alcoholic or drug addict if they're able to have their addiction in moderation).

What kind of tests do you mean? Have they done an MRI and confirmed scarring on the brain and spinal cord? Have they done a spinal tap to confirm O-bands in her spinal fluid?

Look into the Wahls Protocol. It's a paleo way of eating developed by a doctor who has PPMS (primary progressive MS). She also has examples of exercises specifically designed to help people with MS maintain their mobility. She went from laying in a reclined wheelchair all day to biking like 20 miles at a time. At one time, she was doing clinical trials on the effects of diet on auto-immune diseases such as MS; I don't know if those are still ongoing. Her book was one of the first I bought when my husband was diagnosed with MS back in 2016. He's never been willing to stick to the strict diet, but I know firsthand how much we are affected by what we eat (I have autoimmune arthritis and it goes into remission when I stop eating processed sugar).

Financially...if you choose to go the pharma route (which I'm normally not a fan of, but MS is scary) the doctor needs to go ahead and get her on an aggressive treatment like Tysabri. The Dr will need to go to bat for her with the insurance company; the insurance company will try to insist that she try something older (and less effective) like copaxone first. My husband's neurologist has done this on several occasions, so if yours won't fight for your wife, find a new one! When the insurance company approves a high priced drug, you will want to enroll in the drug company's financial aid program. It is the only way we were able to afford Tysabri (monthly infusion) for several years and now Keysimpta (administered at home). For both of the medicines, the manufacturer pays the deductible with the first dose of the year.

Prayers for your wife (and you)!

In my house, we would assume that meant a kid shoved a piece of cheese into the right shoe when we weren't looking.

Opinion question...If I'm designing a t-shirt, is it better to put the message in blatant words (ie "the arkansas abortion amendment will legalize baby murder"), or is it better to use a phrase that will hopefully catch people's attention and get them to talk to you (ie "ask me about the arkansas abortion amendment")? My thought is that the second option gives people a reason to talk to you so that you can explain why the amendment is bad while the blatant one with either be ignored or acknowledged only by people who agree with you.

Edit: Or option three...tshirts are stupid so don't waste time and money on them.

My gut told me from the beginning that Johnson wasn't the guy for the job. On the one hand, I'm glad to know I can still trust my gut, but on the other hand I was really hoping folks were right when they were gushing about how good and pure and conservative and Godly Johnson is.

If anybody still has facebook, feel free to go here https://www.facebook.com/ARlibertynow and troll. They've given themselves a nifty name, "Arkansans For Limited Government," but what they actually mean is "Arkansans For The Codification of Baby Murder Into Our State Constitution." Something tells me they're not really Arkansans....

I'm good. My family is good. The chickens got upset when it got dark and started running for home, then they were super confused when the sun came right back out. The dogs started their nighttime patrols when it got dark, but other than that, they weren't concerned. The bees, though...the bees were MAD when it started getting dark and their internal clocks said it wasn't time. They all came home and then there was a major traffic jam at the door.

I've had similar thoughts. But I know how hungry my spirit is for the Word in the Bible, so I pray for discernment and read it anyway. There may be a few things in there that man has added, but whoever added them forgot to take out the part where God said that anybody who changes it will have to answer to HIM (Revelation 22:18-19). I figure I'll read it, live by it (as much as I can as a fallen human), and let God deal with the fellas who added the extras.

Except, I can't find anywhere that shows that she was actually there...She was the daughter of two mennonite farmers, and she WAS a refugee during WWII, but even her own website doesn't say that she was a Holocaust survivor. And she was a novelist...so she was good at making up stories. Just sayin...

I watched a documentary the other day and it made me think...we kind of inadvertently put some folks on pedestals and we really shouldn't trust ANYONE completely other than God. If what this young man is saying in this documentary is true, James O'Keefe had the opportunity to save the entire world, but chose the "legal" path while admonishing the public to do something brave. I haven't had time to do any further research on this, but hopefully I will soon.

I think this is worth a watch. Personally, I haven't had time to do the research to either believe this guy or disbelieve him, but I think it's a good reminder that we should never completely trust anyone except Jesus.

If we're banning TikTok because it's owned by the CCP...what are we gonna do with Temu? And, alllllllll those supposed conservatives who are now concerned with the CCP owning our information via TikTok didn't seem to care that the CCP owned the incoming Resident back in January of 2021, so why the EFF do they care about TikTok now? I don't trust this.

Gonna go here in a bit after we've finished our schoolwork! Good field trip for my little people, we'll call it civics for today.

Gas is going back up. It was in the $2.40ish range for several months and now it's back up to $2.79. And yeah, groceries are insane. Things I paid a dollar for back at the end of 2020 are now over double the cost (store brand graham crackers especially come to mind since I have two little people at home).
