I was wondering just how much of the aid being sent to Israel actually went to defenses, etc and how much just ended up getting laundered to the right people. Imagine the Israelis thinking that their country is well-defended and then finding out that someone(s) walked away with all the money.

Because I like you people so much, I'll share this story today.

Back in the early 90s, I read a tale in some computer magazine about a guy who had to go to Microsoft's head office for some reason. His contact took him on a tour of the place. While they're walking around, they run into Bill Gates in the hallway. After introductions, they're all chatting when ol' Bill puts his hand down the back of his pants (his own, not the storyteller's), has a little scratch, pulls his hand out and sniffs his fingers.

Now it could have been just someone who hated BGates and made the whole thing up but since those days, we've learned a lot about autism/Asperger's and it's just possible that Gates would do something like that because of a lack of understanding of social standards (assuming he is somewhat autistic).

There is also the possibility that he does things like that on purpose, to "throw other people off". I've seen someone do something similar (not that particular action though) in order to mess with the other person's mind, to give the weirdo a slight psychological advantage over the other person.

Every time I see anything about Gates now, I remember that story. Good ol' "Scratch and Sniff" Gates.

Good write-up!

Its like someone that has a spouse that is cheating. They see something suspicious, but it conflicts with their reality and it makes them uncomfortable. So they make an excuse for it and dismiss it. Then they see something else. They make another excuse.

I was thinking of this earlier, in terms of the people who get caught up in Internet scams. They send out money, people around them warn them that they're being scammed, they don't listen. The con artist changes the story a bit, the mark sends out more money, people warn them etc etc.

The person being conned has to reach that point in their own mind but it's tough - it means admitting being dumb enough to fall for a scam that other people could see through. It brings ego-damage. It can also wreck a person's view of the world if they are particularly sheltered - "HOW could anyone do something mean and cold-hearted like that to another person??"

Women and children are not enemy combatants

But to some people, they do make perfect sacrifices.

Would be crazy if Trump picked him up for VP.

Heads would explode, I'm sure.

Nice little third point there, mentioning "fake and manipulated images" and combat scenes that "actually originated from video games".

Weird how that wasn't a problem when that was the type of "footage" coming out of Ukraine.

I was thinking of Ralph Nader. I hadn't realized that some of the Dems blamed him for Bush2 winning both times. He was such a darling of the Lefties.

"What difference at this point does it make?"

Amen to that. The whole concept of "God's Chosen" is really no different that the idea of "All are equal but some are more equal than others".

It's circular reasoning to me -

"These people are God's Chosen."

"Why do we believe that?"

"Because it's in the book that those same people wrote so we have to take it as fact."

Something that I don't understand - If you build modern military equipment for your armies, and there is even the slightest potential that it could fall "into enemy hands", how difficult would it be nowadays to put a kill-switch into the tanks, planes, etc? Some small bit of code or a certain part that could be locked down but could be reversed by your own technicians - or if worse came to worse, something that just completely bricked the equipment. Are there even GPS transponders on the things to allow tracking?

I've been wondering this since the Afghanistan debacle. To me, it just seems practical and safe. But I guess it would probably mess up the resale value or something /s

A digital cash replacement should not enable criminality

Who do these clowns think they're fooling? They are the criminals that the rest of the world needs protection from and I can say with some confidence that any system they put it place will allow them to continue to grab as much $$$ for themselves as they like while continuing to pillage the rest of the world, driving it deeper into poverty.

There were various "Long Cold" things going around, long before covid. It was something that I noticed just after 2013 - people (myself included) were getting what felt like a regular cold but instead of it going away after a week or so, it dragged on and on. I had the head cold part but I was still coughing 5 weeks later. A friend of mine had a cough for two months after all the "sinus-y" parts of the cold had gone away. Lots of chatter and complaining on FB, etc from others so it was definitely noticeable to me.

It was one of those things that people just started to take for granted. "I have this respiratory infection that I can't shake. Must be the New Normal!" I wondered at one point if I had picked up MERS on a jaunt to England.

So Hillary - what you're saying is that it's totally possible to program/brainwash people into believing things.

Cool. Now tell us who has had control of the MSM for decades and what all those "news" shows/talk shows were actually doing to the public's mind. Maybe a little brainwashing? Or a bit of (literal) programming? Or is it different when it was your side doing things?

Well, hey I've just learned something new today! I had no idea that Marx coined that term (though he probably just stole it from some other guy).

And yes - never let your enemies define the terms you use.
