I do practice runs with all my generators. I g have two gas ones for the initial phase, a diesel next and a propane powered one. They will all run the well pump and I have a plan to do everything in a short time like watering the horses and chickens, doing laundry, charging anything and keeping the fridges and freezers cold. I have a mini fridge that I can put frozen bottles in with our daily stuff so it doesn’t need to run all the time. We heat only with wood so no worries there. Stay ready! I just wait for the lights to go out to switch over.

My set up is the gas generator until the gas is gone, three hundred gallons of diesel for that generator and then a lot of propane for the propane generator. Have a well do so no problem getting water, lots of food and pew pews. A year or more of hay in the barn. We would run the generator and do everything at the same time, fill water buckets for the horses, laundry, shower and charge what we need to. Heat with only wood so winter is no problem. Live in sheep and cattle country and the hills are alive with deer. I live in Utah so the Mormons are also stocked up as they are pretty much required to have a years worth of supplies. I’ve been ready so long I wish it would just start if it’s going to happen, I’m as ready as I can be. Good luck to everyone

At 57 I feel the same. I joined to cruise around the world and party in ‘84. When my some wanted to be a marine because the uniform was cool I told him as long as he wanted running through the desert with a rifle. The beach me a helo mechanic and is now a civilian air ambulance pilot.
