No way we could hear without the PA system. I managed to get standing room only tickets and I was right behind the last row of seats. I got up at 2 in the morning, made my way down to the capitol building really early, made sure my bladder was empty, went through the TSA check points, rushed to get the best possible position, and then stood for 6 hours in the cold waiting to see my President - the one I had been waiting for all my life. I'll also never forget the day Q first dropped on 4chan. I've been aware of the cabal for a LONG time. Back in the 80s when I was a young one, some of us knew that Kennedy was murdered by the CIA.
I can see this displacing many knowledge workers at first. The trades will then become the best way to make a living - until robotics advance to the point where those jobs can be replaced as well. (ie. carpenter, electrician, H-VAC, welding, plumbing, auto-mechanic, etc.)
People are still normal here in deep red eastern KY / western WV. Yeah, we have our share of people who were vaxxed at the advice of their doctors, but many weren't. Everyone is friendly and kind to one another. My truck fell apart in the grocery store parking lot the other day (fell off the ball joint) and I had no less than 3 men come out of nowhere, get on their backs and proceed to tell me what was wrong with my vehicle LOL. I had two old women come up to me and tell me they were going to pray for me. Life is different in red America - specifically Appalachia! Love it here!
Joel Osteen preaches a message
Of having your best life now
But does he speak of the true source
Of strength and power somehow
He tells us to focus on ourselves
To overcome and to win
But the Bible teaches something else
Of faith and grace within
For it is not of our own will
But of God's mercy and might
That we are made spiritually alive
And able to see the light
We cannot choose to follow Christ
Unless we're first given the power
It's not our decision or our strength
But God's appointed hour
So let us not get caught up
In the pursuit of worldly gain
But seek the Lord with all our hearts
And let his mercy reign
I've listened to Joel Osteen. While I don't know the man and can't condemn him, I will just state that he does not preach the Gospel of substitution and satisfaction in Christ. He teaches self-help and self-esteem. That may very well have caused you to believe you've been helped. But everyone is a sinner. We need a whole lot LESS self-esteem. Only when we've been brought into the dust and realize how wretched we are can we be brought to see our need for a savior, to look to Christ and to rest in all of his work. Only when we've had our self-esteem removed can we like the thief on the cross be brought to look only to Christ for redemption and salvation. We cease from STRIVING and looking to our works and thoughts to RESTING in His finished work for His people. I do not hear this message from Osteen. I hear do this and do that. Esteem yourself. Feel good about yourself. God wants you to have $$, etc.. And yes, I have listened to him. And I feel sorry for him, his ministry, and those that listen to him. He too needs to hear the truth.
I have a conservative friend who works for the US post office. He never needed the shot and the union even defended the rights of people not to get a shot. Go figure - a big US government agency, and they were exempt. Labor law was clear, (US Post office falls under the NLRB unlike other federal agencies) the jab was a working condition and companies were required to negotiate with unions over working conditions. Even though the union was for the shots, they didn't want the backlash from their members.
My elderly mom and dad didn't get it, my mother in law didn't get it, my wife and son didn't get it... But my sister got the J&J shot to keep her job. Her kids thankfully didn't get it. But I have so many friends that did get it. Everything has been amicable, but I'm prepared to start burying lots of my elderly friends. I've seen a lot of strokes recently, but everyone is suffering cognitive dissonance. This is no different than losing friends and family in WW2, except it's not bombs killing our loved ones. In the end, I trust in God, and He knows what is best. He will be glorified in all things!
Agree. I took intro to logic along with discrete math for my comp sci degree. These classes were the best. I especially liked the intro to logic where we would diagram syllogisms and fallacies. It got complicated, but made me think! Schools don’t teach people to think, but instead teach people to regurgitate knowledge whether it is true or false.
I didn't realize the significance of the military coming down until after I got home and watched the event online and saw some astute commentary on it. But it was really something. I've got it my personal recording of it. And hearing the canons fire off in the distance was amazing!
