Probably happened many times, many places. I recall one "crop burning" that took place in West central MO (Benton County, I believe) back in the late '70s. My dad was a deputy sheriff at the time and was involved with the raids. The most hilarious part was a newscaster that was reporting, standing downwind, just stopped talking and stood there with a stupid smile, lol. Dad said they had to switch off LEOs quite often. I volunteered to help but was declined..
No telling at this point, betting on staging at Malta.. My USAF and USMC contacts are quiet, other than some "special" assets have been put on "rapid status". Even that doesn't always mean anything. I think they do that sometimes just to keep them on their toes.
I think USSS in the balcony with paintball (orange) rifles..
