My personal favorite is “gas is so expensive it would be cheaper to snort cocaine and run everywhere.”

A Patriot’s History of the United States (Schweikart, Allen) has been recommended here before. They apparently have developed a full curriculum (Wild World of History dot com).

This is literally my only source for what’s going on in the world. Started on Reddit with The_Donald, followed to .win, held on when they became patriots.win, and through the election. Then the dooming began and I couldn’t handle it anymore. I heard the good stuff (hopium) was here. I came for a hit and am now hopelessly and happily addicted. I get tweaky when the site is down. Love you guys. You are my people. My family are conservative but think I’m nuts with the conspiracy stuff. I’ll be over here smirking when they figure it all out.

I’m not arguing your point that some translations are garbage, only that Believers can get into pedantic arguments about translations when the point is to READ it. I am a regular student of the Bible and frequently refer to the Greek and Hebrew texts. The KJV has not cornered the market on being the most faithful translation, but I will heartily agree that in some instances, there is nothing like the beauty and majesty of the old King James.

The enemy loves for God’s people to be divided over stuff like this.

The best translation of the Bible is the one you’ll read.

I’m sorry. No one gets colds anymore. It’s all Covid, all the time.

In my area, we’re entering into what used to be known as ragweed season. That’s now called Covid too.

I’m from around here too and I kind of wish Deters’s name wasn’t attached to it (too many people hate him). He is a bit of a loose cannon. Maybe loose cannon is what is needed at this juncture.

Having said that, because my mistrust of media has grown exponentially in the past couple of years, I now wonder how much he has been mischaracterized to make him look bad.

I was listening briefly but I did hear that. Basically Biden saying something like, “Your question was supposed to be xyz so I’m going to answer that.”

I think of him often and say another prayer for him and for his daughter. I hope they’re both well and we’ll hear from him soon.

He is a general now but (my guess) was a colonel when he was commander there.
