I've a Galaxy Note 8 and no NWO app found. Maybe it's only the newer and/or 5G phones?
It is a difficult concept, I agree! I am lucky if I grasp this even for a moment.
This week on Tuesday, we commemorated St. Paisios of Mt. Athos. For that reason, I've been (re)reading many of his teachings. Here are a couple of them:
There are four stages in confronting injustice. Let’s say someone strikes you unjustly. If you are at the first stage, you strike back. If you are at the second stage, you feel very upset inside, but control yourself and do not speak. At the third stage you are not agitated by the injustice. But at the fourth stage, you experience great joy, extraordinary spiritual gladness. When someone is wronged and proves that he was not at fault, he is justified and feels satisfied. In this case, he feels a worldly joy. But if he confronts the injustice spiritually, with good thoughts, and without trying to prove that he is innocent, he experiences spiritual joy. That’s when he has divine consolation in his heart 16 and is moving in the realm of doxology, glorifying God. Have you any idea what joy can be felt by a soul that is wronged but does not attempt to justify itself so that people will say, “Bravo,” or “I am sorry”? It rejoices more in being wronged than in being justified. Those who reach this spiritual condition wish to thank the one who wronged them for the joy rendered in this life but also for the eternal life that has been secured. How different is the spiritual from the worldly!
There is no greater joy than the joy you feel when you accept injustice. I wish everyone was unjust to me! I can honestly tell you that the sweetest spiritual joy I have experienced has been through accepting injustice. Do you know how much I rejoice when someone tells me that I am in error? “Glory be to Thee, O God,” I say. “From this, I will get a reward, while if someone should call me a saint, I will bein debt. ”There is no sweeter thing than to endure injustice!
Is this not a strange concept? I think so, but I also think it's beautiful. I hope to someday attain such a state of being.
There is an important Christian concept, one with which I struggle, that says we should look forward to injustice being done upon our person. Why? Is this not backwards thinking? Who wishes for bad things?
Rather, I think, the idea is that injustice provides us the opportunity to get closer to God should we have the presence of mind and strength of faith to turn toward such an understanding.
Those who find this idea repulsive might not yet have a spiritual world in which they live. Therefore, this concept could seem "cowardly" or "submissive". Rather, to those who live in such a spiritual world, the idea brings immense joy. Such a glorious opportunity to be like Christ and to suffer as he suffered. Who would not feel humble and celebrate, in such a moment? In this light, it is easy to understand the monk or nun, who separates from the world.
I continue to struggle with this. I often feel as though I should find justice in the face of injustice. Not that this is wrong, but is a worldly worry and satisfaction. Instead, I should see this as an opportunity to strengthen my spiritual relationship with and toward God.
Please forgive me if I'm not explaining it well.
He's actually a really great guy, but I know what you mean. 😆
I'm seriously impressed! Thank you for sharing. You have done (and continue to do) a very difficulty thing.
I actually wrote a "Why I want to lose weight / get healthy" letter to myself to make sure I maintained discipline when things get mentally tough. I'm a food-driven person, so I need the reminder constantly. This is no silly "Live, Laugh, Love" banner I hang on a wall. It's something I open and read, with honesty and diligence.
Something that always ruined my motivation was that I was slimming down and toning up for something. When I hit my goals, I was done. This time (and hopefully for the rest of my life), I'm working to make changes that reflect my internal, spiritual fortification. In many ways this is harder, in many ways this is easier. Diligence and discipline remain key factors in this journey.
The reward is mighty, if you can get there, both spiritually and physically. I am not there yet, but I hope to be in time.
St. Paisios was, and continues to be, a great teacher! Truly timeless. 🙏
Um, your Marxism is showing!
This comes to mind, but I'm not sure if you are looking for more "physical world"-type preparedness:
St. Paisios’ teaching on the value of philotimo, nobility and sacrifice and on the need for interior vigilance and humble, positive thinking are particularly crucial for all who have been raised on the dregs of Western culture – a “culture” poorly so-called, which has, nonetheless, through globalization, laid exclusive claim to being the world-wide culture. The keystone of this now global way of life and worldview was succinctly stated by Rene Descartes at the beginning of the Enlightenment era: "I think, therefore I am." In contrast to this rationalistic creed, there stands that which has been written to describe the theology of the Elder Sophrony of Essex, but which can be applied equally well to the sum total of the teaching of the Elder Paisios, and indeed to all Orthodox life: “I love, therefore I am.” For, it is only by love for Christ and the love of Christ that philotimo, nobility and sacrifice, and all of life itself, can be understood. Moreover, it is only by descending into this self-emptying spirit of Christ that one can ascend to the heights where peace, hope and joy are acquired!
There will always be a reason to say, "Nah, not today."
Ignore it and get exercising. I fail at this a lot, but don't let a "bad day/week/month/year" prevent you from getting back on it. What you're attempting to do is mostly mental.
Baby steps are important, which is why I keep weight-loss goals to one week at a time. If I go too far into the future, I become pessimistic. Also, telling others you're trying to lose weight will help keep you accountable when you feel like taking a day off.
When I was in tip-top shape, I would do a set of crunches (3x30) and pushups (3x15) in the morning and before bed (outside of my normal workout routine). For me, it wasn't about doing the most possible, but just enough to feel a good burn in the muscles. Do what feels right to you and for your body type.
Right now, I'm attempting intermittent fasting.
Good luck!
Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) just quietly announced that all mandates for C19 jabs are rescinded, effective immediately. New hires don't need to get jabbed, etc.
Think of the 98% in the NSHE system who got the jabs last Fall to "keep their job"? It's terrible to what lengths folks have gone.
Emails keep going out, though: "Remember, the vaccine is the best way to stay safe from newer variants!" As though this doesn't ring hollow among the many forcefully jabbed. Only the truly devout keep up the routine.
I recently had a conversation with an Associate Dean, who mentioned getting C19 two or three times since getting all his jabs + boosters, plus all the times he's tested positive. He sounded exasperated, but not "awakened". He still doesn't get it, just has a vague sense of cognitive dissonance.
"The truth will out," as they say.
Finally, Nevada can say goodbye to Las Vegas!
Garrett Ziegler: "They just want to date me."
I watch her podcasts every once in a while. Do I sleep-watch? I suppose I must...
Thank you for the info!
This is a good place to continue my deep dive -- thank you!
After following the link, my first impression is: Some weird stuff surrounding this guy... A lot of folks seem to use this as an excuse to bring out their anti-Semitism. What did I get myself into? 😅
This video seems particularly interesting. Part 9 goes over "The Kalergi Plan".
I really like what he says here:
Q: So has the Great Reset failed? Can we sing a victory song?
A victory song can be sung only when the war has been won. The Great Reset is ontologically destined for failure, because it is inspired by inhuman and diabolical principles. But its end, however inevitable, may still take some time, depending on our capacity to oppose it and also what is contained in the plans of Divine Providence.
If the Lord wants to grant us a truce, a period of peace after we have understood how horrible is the hell on earth that the enemies of God and man desire, then we must commit ourselves to rebuild – not “build back better” but just the opposite – yes, rebuild what has been destroyed: the family, the bond of marriage, the moral education of children, love for our country, dedication to hard work, and fraternal charity, especially towards those who are the most defenseless and needy. We must reaffirm the holiness and untouchable sanctity of life from conception to natural death; defending the complementary nature of the two sexes against the insanity of gender ideology, protecting children from corruption and guaranteeing the innocence to which they are entitled. We must finally set aside the logic of profit – which is typical of the liberal mentality – in order to regain the pride of fulfilling our duty even when no one is watching us, of producing what we make in a professional manner and selling it at an honest price. And we must stop considering ourselves inferior simply because someone has decided that in their godless model of dystopian society being honest, loyal, sincere, and God-fearing is something to be ashamed of. The ones who ought to be ashamed, rather, are those who call for the killing of children and the elderly, the planned extermination of the population through wicked vaccine campaigns, mass sterilization, sodomy, pedophilia, and all the most deviant aberrations.
I knew I put my homework somewhere! Turns out it was an island next to Florida in the Atlantic/Pacific Ocean. Phew! 😂😅
The idea as first presented to me was that it equaled women's rights, because women who are pregnant have a greater burden to protect both themselves and their baby (implied albeit unstated: men can't be trusted to stick around and 'a woman shouldn't need a man to take care of herself'.) If you could abort the baby before it was 'ever truly a baby', then you could better keep your standing equally with men.
Not that this is a good argument, please don't misunderstand. But this was how it was first presented and understood by me. Modern day feminists have literally "thrown the baby out with the bathwater".
I disagree with the entire idea of "daycare", although I acknowledge this can be a very difficult choice for many families.
By choosing daycare, we are asking complete strangers to take care of our children. We agree that >$1400/mo is the value we place on our child's early years. I'd rather quit my job and raise my children, I'd rather pay friends who I know well and who are willing to watch my children, I'd rather drop them off at the grandparents/relatives than have them suffer through the early-learning process at these terrible places.
The idea that a first-world country = (cheap) daycare is a silly argument, imho, although I'm not sure OP meant this. Folks living in a first-world country should value protecting their children more. Sending them off to a daycare to get perpetually sick and raised by some NPC is no way to raise a family.
This isn't Brave New World (yet) -- raise yo' kids!
First: apologies for the youtube links.
Second: in celebration of the end of the “Occupation” of the month of June, I’d like to (re)introduce many of you to Kellie-Jay Keen (aka Posie Parker).
KJK is a self-proclaimed “Femalist”, notably not a “feminist” – because that term means practically nothing substantial anymore and divides women’s voices (not my opinion, although I don’t disagree; this appears to be her view of it). She used to be a lefty-feminist but is very much a middle-of-the-road type now. Because of being a once-lefty, she has a large arsenal of counter-points to lefty ideology.
She went viral, to the best of my knowledge, in her interview with Triggernometry (here) and was one of the first (if not THE first) to promote the definition of a woman as “an adult human female”. Fair warning: she’s not a biologist.
Although I don’t agree with everything KJK says or believes (e.g. she’s pro-choice), she has an amazing way of articulating her arguments against the Trans movement.
One person commented on the video posted here, saying:
“This has never been about men cross dressing or thinking they are women in men's bodies. This is all about boundary violations between the sexes and between adults and children. This is the end result of the depravity of so much of the sexual revolution of the 1960s, and I lived through that era. There is only one question here in this so-called debate: Do women have the right to say "no" to men in any circumstance, predatory or not? If "no," then those who believe so think women are not human beings.” [Bold script added by me.]
Although I dislike the Men versus Women angle that is the basis for most of KJK’s (and her viewers’) arguments, it is relevant. Women should have the right to say “no” to the bathroom, locker room, and dressing room invaders. Boundaries have been crossed. This is an issue for both men and women, and lives are definitely on the line.
Saying “no” to self-identifying pronouns, saying “no” to CRT in schools, saying “no” to the drag-queen story hours is only the first step in stopping this travesty against our fellow humans.
No compromise, not ever.
I identify as Ukraine. Can I get some of that monopoly money, too? /s
I dunno what's happening anymore, but goshdarnit if it isn't a good news day! 🤣 🤞
Can confirm! It's good.
