Certainly better than any of the choices I have 😆. Even the Libertarian on the ballot leans too far to the left. The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to write in Dan Cox, if for no other reason because Hogan called him a "Q-Anon whack job." If Hogan can write in a candidate for President, then I'm sure he won't mind me writing in the guy who upended his chosen successor for governor instead of him for Senate.
My area is very red, but I've seen even more Trump signs than in 2020. I've also seen an Alsobrooks sign graffiti'd with the words "liar" and "traitor" in Baltimore City. I think enough city people are fed up with how the city is running. I'm glad to hear it's not just me seeing the people wake up.
Hogan won the primary because (a), there are still Republican Marylanders who think he did a swell job during the pandemic (uh, no), and (b), because there were 7 other people running, and he had name recognition. Had MD conservatives organized and rallied around a single candidate, we might have had a Dan Cox-type upset in the primaries.
I am aware of her past record, and I wasn't really serious about writing her in. I was mostly commenting on how she, as a lifelong Democrat, is more supportive of Trump than the alleged Republican who is running for Senate. No, I don't agree with her voting record, but she is antiwar and at least sees how the Democrats' positions have devolved into lunacy. If Hogan somehow wins, he'll vote against Trump out of spite at every turn just to appease his ego. Think NoName voting against ending Obamacare even those he ran for Senate promising to end it. The normie Republicans in my state think Hogan is better than the Democrat candidate. He's worse, and my efforts to educate them have been massively frustrating.
Don't worry. I'll either vote for the Libertarian running or write in an actual MD conservative.
Not exactly the kind of datefagging you usually see on GAW 😆.
Despite the article's assertion the contract is fake, if they do, in fact, break up on the 28th, maybe this is a mechanism to wake up normies who don't follow politics. As they say in TV Land, stay tuned...
I think it benefits Trump more to debate on one of the other networks. If Trump demolishes Kamala in the FNC debate, everyone will say it's because they favor Trump, which they don't. If Baier and McCallum pull a Megyn Kelly, then everyone says, "See, even FNC knows he's trash," especially if he complains about it afterwards. Too many people still don't see FNC for what they are.
Doherty has been battling cancer for about 10 years, so not in the suddenly category. Not as big a name, but this one was certainly unexpected, given his age and relative good health: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/former-nfl-receiver-jacoby-jones-dies-at-40
They'll have to go South. Already illegal in Maryland. https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/maryland/cat-declawing-banned-maryland-second-us-state-to-do-it-governor-hogan-cheryl-kagan/65-8e4e74e7-b006-4f63-9d30-a7077829382f
Last I read, they rescued two, one declined treatment and the other is in serious condition. Six still unaccounted for. Sonar spotted three passenger vehicles, one work truck, and another vehicle at the bottom of the Patapsco.
Maryland's primaries (both parties) are closed. Independent voters cannot vote during the primaries. It's irritating because there are almost as many unaffiliated voters as there are GOP voters in MD, hence the reason our state can claim it's 2-to-1 Democrat. Just pick a side and have some say in the process.
Better than the current situation, but we'll see what happens. The local stories focus on Smith being a "conservative," but this a state where Larry Hogan is considered a conservative. One local website reported he tore into his new staff and told them they should be more like the local Fox affiliate he owns (I have a link, but behind a paywall). For what it's worth, Fox 45 has committed actual acts of journalism with their Project Baltimore series exposing the corruption in city schools and local government. They were instrumental in the state school superintendent's decision to not seek a second term. Still expecting any Maryland conservative outlet to be never Trump, but it may be a step in the right direction.
I voted today in MD, first day of early voting. I happened to drive past the polling place when they opened at 7 and there was a line out the door. I came back around 8:30 and it was a steady stream of people even then. If MD actually voted for Trump I'd be shocked, but people definitely seem motivated.
Proud to say that I decided to write in Dan Cox for Senate instead of voting for that RINO a-hole Hogan. I'm done with voting for the lesser of two evils, although I'd argue Hogan is worse that Alsobrooks, if only because I know how she'll vote 100 percent of the time.
