Well, fren, there are tons of videos on youtube of people who are carnivores and some of them have been on the diet for years. Some are stricter than others. Some eat ONLY meat while others include things like butter and cheese. There are even doctors on their espousing it's effectiveness. One doctor, Dr. Caffee, eats only beef. He said that 99% of the time, he eats rib eye steaks. There are other docs doing the same, as well. If your dad is interested, you can show him those videos and maybe alleviate his concerns. And I don't know if a person has to do it forever, but maybe for a good long while (6 months? - 1 year?) to 'reset' their body. Anyway, there's many who know a lot more than me.
