It was fine in most of NC the day after Helene passed through. Raleigh and Chapel Hill? No problem, they would have had to probably sweep up some leaves, that's all

It's just as bad when misinformed, ignorant people "do something." "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do evil." That's really how they do it, getting all these activists barking up the wrong tree, zealously doing wrong. The most important thing is spiritual discernment to avoid getting caught up in the schemes of demons.

The people who say Trump is going to be a dictator are 1) censoring everything that makes them look bad 2) holding a bunch of political prisoners on trumped-up charges 3) passing arbitrary detention laws (Hochul in NY) ... I could go on... so ... well, you could say these folks do know a few things about dictatorship

POPULAR CANDIDATE THREATENS DEMOCRACY BY BEING POPULAR "The people have to earn their democracy, by voting for those acceptable to their social betters. Otherwise we will crush them, for their own good!"

Pinochet, benevolent? I would be surprised if anyone on this board came out in favor of dictatorship. It doesn't really seem to be the tone here. People here seem to be against censorship, for an armed population, and for civil liberties. But what do I know? Maybe they're all hiding their real, inner desire to live under a dictatorship? I doubt it. That's a fantasy projection of the left, which is actually doing anti-democratic things while shouting about how their political opponents are destroying democracy-- by being popular with the people.

Yeah I'm surprised, I figured they'd nominate him and then have him have a "medical event" that would require a substitute at the last minute-- Michelle probably

You have to check out the propaganda materials of the Black Israelites sometime. They are awesome. My favorite is that they don't "understand" things, because that's inferior, they "overstand" them. Also a lot of outer space stuff, aliens, etc. If you see a group of them out recruiting or proselytizing they often wear awesome medieval costumes.

The comments are at the same time bland and offensive. They're bland because he can backpedal to say that "any time there is social change there is bloodshed" and they're offensive because he (and others like him) doesn't distinguish between white people. That's what makes it racist. If he said "for there to be progress, there may be bloodshed" that indeed is a kind of statement of fact, but it's because he says "for there to be progress, white blood must be shed" makes it racist. It's creepy to be calling for bloodshed at all from the academy. But this kind of talking about "white people" as if that's a thing, is just legitimized ignorance. He goes on to say that in the Civil War white blood was shed. Yes, it's true, German revolutionaries were expelled from Baden in the thousands, came here, and decided that they couldn't live with slavery, got Abraham Lincoln elected and fought and died to end slavery here. Do they get any thanks? No, they had to all erase themselves and pretend not to be German, lose all their German language and newspapers and culture when WWI and WWII came around. And this guy is so ignorant of history that he lumps the 48rs in with the plantation owners.
