Normally the sentence includes removal from office and prohibition from holding office in the future. The prohibition has not always been included as in the case of Federal Judge Alcee L. Hastings who was convicted and sentenced to removal but not prohibited from future office. He later ran for and was elected as a congressman from Florida.
