Went to Knoxville to for our first date in our new home state. We left our masks in the car and only patronized bars and stores that didn’t require them. Most places didn’t turn us away but at one place the employees looked nervously at each other as they weren’t sure if they should boot us. There were very few people wearing masks in general and even though some bars had signs saying masks required we saw people inside not wearing them. It felt so good, it felt so normal. We had a drink at a bar, we took some pictures, we hit a steak house and walked right past all the masked people to our table and had the best night. I’m so glad to be out of New York and settled in TN the land of the free and the home of the brave.

I recommend a Sunday drive on the foothills parkway, east of Knoxville. It’s an amazing & beautiful stretch. Highly recommend.
Also, gatlinburg is fun but touristy.
I was an east TN native most of my life.
good choice.
drive on a sunday, but don't be a sunday driver.
Valid.
kek, the older I get, the slower that I drive but mostly because my vehicle gets about 12mpg on a good day!
I vacationed in TN as a kid and dated a woman out there as an adult. I love that area.
Yeah, I have a similar story about TN. I vacation there as an adult and dated a woman there when I was a kid.?
Also, Cleveland, TN, isn't far from the there. The Cherokee National Forest is not far from there. Stunning beauty!
Yes, right now the trees are blooming it’s gorgeous!
Wooohoooo!!! Kudos from Fla....also home of the free and the brave
Tennessee and Florida. There are only 2 states left
In alabama we are just a couple good decisions away from joining the other 2. Once this 400 year old Paleolithic lesbian passes away and there is new leadership we may finally get there. Mo brooks seems to be pretty based and Tuberville remains to be seen
The massive influx of blue state transplants in Northern AL may destroy us. I weep for our state.
I am in the northern part but am hoping we can avoid it. Lots of the ones we get our prior military so we have been able to hold our own. It's really all the bs corruption that got meemaw there and I definitely think we have some shenanigans going on after the Roy Moore debacle.
Agreed. We need to form a support group for Northern AL Patriots.
I was going to day DM me cause I and others I know would be interested...but apparently idk how to DM on here. Ha
Missouri ain't never had no dam mandate.
It doesn’t really sound like Tennessee is all that based. To be honest the description sounds like what I deal with in a very very blue city.
Wrong. The majority of us Tennesseans are based. Trump got 73% of our votes.
More like 100% red and 10% blue kek
Only Memphis & Nashville to the West are blue.
Also Texas fren!
Anybody got anything to say for or against Holmes County and the surrounding area, particularly with regard to employees not needing to wear masks?
Welcome to East Tennessee! I'm sure you're based since you're on GAW but please, please, please don't vote for liberals here. If you live in the county, you've got a great Mayor in Glenn Jacobs (Kane) but if you're in the city you're stuck with the leftist Indya Kinkannon. Be warned...Market Square has good bars and restaurants but it's full of cucks.
Good for you! Wish you all the best from mostly maskless GA. You'll also enjoy good food, nice weather, low taxes and nice people?
Welcome to Tennessee! We are in middle Tenn about halfway between Knoxville and Nashville. We have a great Governor and no state income tax. People are friendly and support the Constitution. Lots of fun things to do no matter what part you live in. Enjoy your new Home state!
Because you are brave, you are free. God bless you both, and welcome to TN!
Enjoy skipping the "State" part of your tax returns. It feels like freedom
I love hearing stories like this. I'm in a blue state, in a blue city and OSHA is tasked with punishing the business if one of its patrons dare to defy his mighty highness, the governor. So I have to walk a fine line. Big box store? They can afford the fine and his royal assness wouldn't shut them down. Small business? They can't afford the fine and lard butt will shut them down without a care.
So this is like hearing a happy vacation story. :)
We ain't gone givem none shits about all those hootenanny face paper. Tennessee is where AMERICANS live.
I went to the grocery store yesterday and saw someone wearing a cloth mask, disposable one over it, and a face shield.
I didn't have a mask and our "mandate" ended Friday, but still far too many people with masks on.
When our mandate ends, I may visit the Safeway across the street and King Soopers a short drive away-I will see if their zeal for a mandate is matched by a zeal for opening back up... Hell of a business plan if not...
They may not be able to find employees now. Kek.
Point and laugh. They throw shame our way now it’s our turn!
I like to reach in front of these people to get something I don't need off the shelf. Then I deliberately try to start a conversation so they have to deal with the fact that I seem oblivious (maskless).
So great to hear you and your wife had a lovely normal date night in your new state! Hope you love your new life in the south...Texan born and raised and life is beautiful here as well. Feel so sorry for the good people trapped in those loser states but I believe the best is yet to come.
Looking at cities where 99.5% of people wear masks, Texas doesn't have a strong standing for calling other states loser states.
How uplifting to hear! Thanks
That's great! Good for you guys. :)
Feels good man
We just got back from the AL coast. Place was packed. Every restaurant, every beach, every souvenir shop, every crosswalk in between. Young and old people alike.
Maybe one of of 200 people wearing masks.
Felt good to be normal again
That's heartening to hear. Do you know whether that attitude extends eastward beneath AL in the Florida panhandle? Asking because there's a chance I could be moving there.
If I knew AL or GA would ban vaccine passports I'd consider them, too.
I do not, but I would venture to say that it does
Welcome to Tennessee. You're gonna love it here! ♥️♥️♥️
Come visit the beautiful Sequatchie Valley, about 25 miles north of Chattanooga. Take the 127/Signal Mountain route. Great for a Sunday drive. :-)
This ☝? Roane County here.
Welcome!
I have never been hassled about wearing a mask in Knoxville, and the people are great.
Check out Ijams Nature Center if you’re near the city. Very pleasant spot so close to the urban area.
I moved here from California a few years back now and Tennesseans have been great to me and welcomed me with open arms. I’ve found so many people here that share my values in such a (relatively) short time.
You’re just in time to enjoy the freedom of carrying without a permit as well!
Stay safe friend.
I do this in NY
This is how Texas is. If you go in maskless, noone will bug you, but some places get way more nervous than others. All bars at night are like "hahahahaha masks? No"
The employees are forced to deal with this mask crap, even though they may not want to. If anyone gives you a problem for not wearing them, ask for a manager. Restaurant/retail employees are just doing what they are told. Most don't want masks, any way. It's management that makes real changes.
I think it just dawned on me that you mean "maskless" lol....wasn't quite sure what a masses date was.
Market square? Did you try the George Clooney tequila flight?
Here's a real place to go to if you're ever in Tennessee:
2195 State Line Rd, Elizabethton, TN 37643
VOLUNTEERS, Pede ? Welcome!
Moving to PA. Hoping the same follows suit. The Senate gives me promise but the Govorner is a Islamist supporting fag
Good luck north of the Mason-dixon
I'd PA leave if I didn't have my parents to care for. Parts are good though. My area is tolerable but we are next door to a Karen and Ken county ?
You should have stayed I your home state and fixed the problem.
You mean like vote in different people? Like how well that worker out in our most recent presidential election?
And suffer needlessly? Some of the states are so corrupt it will take a lot of power and money to solve the problems. What can 2 people do against the corrupt system? Just trying to enjoy their lives. Until the system crumbles or is brought down and is replaced with a fair and valid adherence to the law and the constitution. We wait.
