The Iranians sure have a strange country. Top Secret project buildings exploding, crazy Russian hackers stopping the peaceful production of nuclear material, people falling off the roofs (17th floor) of buildings & now their Largest Naval ship catches fire. Sounds like a movie plot line.... BUCKLE UP /u/#mjpopcorn
Disclaimer: No Iranian people were harmed in the production of this movie scene product.
Most under-rated comment on GAW till date.
That's too bad.
I'm all for the Iranian people waking up and dealing with the Ayatollah and the IRGC.
I thought that was convenient nobody died.
Before CIA orchestrated the first coup to get control of oil in middle east, Iran was quite modernised. Now its unrecognisable.
I knew a woman whose father had a job that had him working in Iran. Brought his whole family. They had to get out when the Shah was ousted. She was about 10-12 years old and has fond memories but even as a child, she could see the slide happening. Such a shame...
The darndest pity is that it started, what, 40-50 years ago? And no one said anything. No one did anything. No one taught in schools about this stuff. Lead by the mockingbird media, people just turned a blind eye. But no more!
It says on the bottom of the hull
"MADE IN CHY-NA"

Didn't I just see a story yesterday that an Iranian warship carrying speedboats was on it's way to Venezuela? Hmmm...
My first thought too, would be oddly convenient!
Yep. Seems like someone is making a point?
No way Biden can be in charge if we had anything to do with it!
Yup
Their largest ship was a support vessel?
LOL
Rods from God
Rods from God is not even a remotely practical concept. This is not to say it is impossible, just monumentally stupid. A x number of tonne tungsten rod in orbit, does not just drop out of space, it must be de-orbitted with a burn that will bring it initially onto a shallow atmospheric entry, the steeper the more fuel is used. A steep trajectory would require enough fuel to almost completely stop the orbit from say 27,000 Kph.
This whole weapon system is so egregiously energy inefficient with the initial launch included that it is just not practical in any way. To get a heavy object out of the atmosphere, accelerate it to 7kms per second only to slow it down again is the most inefficient delivery system possible. Have a look at the price of sending objects into space and then think about the rods from God program. It makes no sense. There are better methods of weapon delivery than this in every parameter conceivable. This is a fantasy promulgated by people who do not understand orbital mechanics and think something dropped from a satellite will act like something dropped from a plane. It does not.
Edit:- Not to be a downer, I loved the concept until I applied knowledge of orbital mechanics to the problem, had a bit of a think about it then went..Nah. This is not to say it would not work, but that burn to slow from 7 kilometers a second to gradually walk a vector onto a terrestrial target at any sort of non shallow trajectory would be long. I guess you could use a smaller course correction and then atmospheric breaking of some sort to achieve a steeper trajectory with less fuel but I just don't overly see this whole concept as practical, especially when the tungsten is coming from earth. If you are going to use atmospheric braking why not just drop it from a plane and save money probably equal to the GDP of Liberia, for one launch.
I think you are implying that rod of god has to do with shooting some actual object from orbit towards a target?
From what I understand its a directed energy weapon. You do not need anything to be physically shot out of orbit.
Two different weapons. Rods from God are (conjectured) tungsten poles which are shot or dropped from orbit. Tungsten is very dense and has a high melting point so they would survive the reentry and absolutely obliterate the relatively small spot they hit. Directed energy would be like a heat ray in old sci fi movies.
G R A V I T Y .
Except as I stated they can not be dropped. They are already in free fall in orbit.
Yes, that was a nice analysis. Math ftw. However, I think just dropping a big dense spike would be very destructive, just not the guided meteorite level destructive (which I think might turn out to not be such a good idea).
Fuck yeah, imagine hoiking it out in a parabola to the very edge of earth capture and having it just pick up speed all the way back and come in at 90 deg. Stand back.
i worked on SSBNs. The unclassified accuracy of a warhead is hitting within a baseball diamond. They just go up and fall off a sled. Little bit of navigation using the stars and good to go.
Its entirely possible that we can stick kinetic warheads on the missile. i have never actually seen or heard of its existence, but we always heards rumors about exotic allow warheads.
i dont see why it wouldnt be easy to use the energy from the re-entry in a kinetic weapon instead of a warhead.
Yeah, exactly. This idea seems much more practical and the energy would be conserved to some extent. The biggest drawback to my thinking is it would look exactly like an ICB(Nuclear)Missile strike.
its interesting to contemplate what exactly a ton of tungsten or depleted uranium hitting the earth at typical re entry speeds of a warhead would do. i think its 14k mile an hour for the trident warheads.
would be sick to see it being tested
So its doable
Yes. So is using an Orion nuclear explosion propulsion system to send a tungsten penetrator around jupiter before hitting Tehran with it.
Like my dad always said. Find out what is trying to stop you, then remove it. Never leave it unchallenged.
Im Convinced the Iranian military are now in charge of the country and are working overtime to purge the Cabal from their lands.
We might actually see from the first time in human history every countries armed forces working together as one.
well, The Iranian regime was installed by the CIA after they deposed the Shah. It's safe to assume they have been CIA assets since then.
I think Trump gutted the CIA, when he announced the transfer of all covert Ops to the DOD. The CIA is dead, in all except name, it'll be announced in due course. I agree, for world peace to happen, hostile regimes need to be replaced, with power restored to the People,
Iran, China, North Korea, Israel, Europe, USA Canada, Australia & NZ etc etc.
progress is being made.
The Iranian navy's largest ship has caught fire and sunk near the Gulf of Oman.
A blaze broke out on board support vessel Kharg on Tuesday afternoon while it was on a training mission near the port of Jask, according to Iranian news agencies.
All crew members were evacuated to shore before firefighters attempted to tackle the blaze, but could not save the ship.
Kharg sunk into waters at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday morning after 20 hours of efforts to save it.
It is not clear how the fire started. Iran and Saudi Arabia have previously been involved in clandestine attacks on rival vessels around the Strait of Hormuz that can initially be reported as fires.
Errr ... so you think you can get your puppet installed, paralyse the local energy industry and sell your blood oil ? We don't think so.
Please pray for all those poor goats that were on board.
Everyone on the ship died from covid
Its just a resupply ship...
But now all the nasty little ships in the area have no fuel resupply, no food resupply, and most importantly, no toilet paper resupply. How does it feel MFers. HA!
No seriously, though, this is major, especially if that is their only resupply ship in the area. You may be the most powerful ship in the area but if you can't move to where the action is... game over. Someone with an IQ a lot higher than mine is firing things up! Where's my popcorn?
Possible that cargo ship had missles bound for HAMAS? IRAN is still deep state. Israel is going to wear them out then Israel is last?
Boat fuel melts steel ships!
It's such a shame when that happens. :>)
Oh no! /s
Space Force LAZZZERZ!
Oof
