A significant portion of the population is literally fucking stupid. As diabolical as it is, I understand why the elites mock and view these people as farm animals. They are literally too dumb to think for themselves.

George Carlin was as based as it gets. I love the man, and he had to present his material as he did to claw his way to the top because the forces of Eviltainment only allow puppets or those that can trick them (Carlin) to have a voice.
That said, I've struggled with the OP's point of viewy whole life. In my higher vibrational periods I try to think of the following:
"We can't all be sheppards"

I thought something was wrong with me but I am with you 100%. Even our large family gatherings would seem meaningless if it wasn't for the grandkids. How long can people just ignore what is going on in the world as if by not talking about it means it doesn't exist. O don't want my existence to be based solely on the ills of the world but I sure don't want to have to pretend everything is hunkydory.
I am the same way. Sometimes I try to socialize and then it smacks me in the face just how stupid people really are. It is painful at times.

There was an economics professor I knew in college--immigrant from a communist country with lots of first-hand insight on why that system is so terrible--who was well known for his witty and memorable quotes. This one actually came from his mom: "if ignorance were painful, the entire world would be screaming."

I encountered these dumb farm animals yesterday. Bunch of older women who grew up in the 60s and 70s, called themselves "Catholics" yet they think Pope Francis is "the holiest man ever!" Not even kidding, they really said that.
And then we got to talking about the vaccine and I said I wasn't going to get it and one lady said, "So what you're saying is you want people to die?"
"I literally didn't say that, you just pulled that out of nowhere. I think you need to stop watching CNN and MSNBC though, find some different sources."
She didn't refute my accusation, meaning it was true, but then she quipped back with "Well YOU shouldn't watch Fox news!" and looked at me with such a smug expression like she just won the debate.
I laughed at her and said, "Pffftt!! I don't watch Fox! I don't trust them either! I get all my news and sources from 3rd party affiliations, or just non-MSM journalists."
She immediately dropped that subject and then started yapping about something else.
I wished that a man had been around to moderate this whole thing. It was me (a young adult female) and my mom vs. 3 democrat "Catholic" boomer women who would barely let me get a word in, they kept talking over me. The only way to shut up these women would have been to have a man there to moderate, otherwise all older boomer women like this do is yap and yell and screech.
I'm quite entirely convinced that these people have no cognitive thought, and believe ONLY what the TV tells them.
They've all gotten the shot, so we'll see what they say/think in about a years time, maybe less since they're older.

Stupid, lazy, complicit ... I'm a PM and there seem to be 80/20 rules all over the place. All though I'm becoming more jaded in my older age, I do see that 80% of the work gets done by 20% of the people. If you don't know what group you're in, you aren't in the 20%.

Most people are creations of a system that intentionally dumbs them down, pacifies them and gives them an allowance for good behaviour.
I think the people here are faulty products that the system has ejected and we have maintained a trajectory that puts us outside the orbit of "that fucked up world".
