At least on the surface, it appears Trump is no longer the president (I know, I know, trust the plan, the best is yet to come), and the state's attorney is suing to block a refund. The refund is because the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board voted unanimously (5-0) to reduce the assessed value of Trump's building.
The only reason this is even news is because of the state's attorney's action is clearly political persecution against Trump.
They try to make it sound like Trump is screwing over the poor schoolchildren.
Trump is owed $1.03 million, money that would come out of the property taxes due the city of Chicago, the Chicago Public Schools and several other government agencies.
I think it's interesting that people are outraged at the treatment Britney Spears has received because her earnings from working hard were essentially stolen by her greedy parents and managers, yet like you said, Trump isn't entitled to keep what is his.
