PHILADELPHIA - Students at Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School have already begun classes this week and the school is reporting 100 percent of its teachers are vaccinated, but now the school is requiring the same of its students by Monday, Aug. 30.
Many parents reached out to FOX 29 outraged and upset.
"We’re being forced to take the shot that we’re still not comfortable with," said Tiffany Negron, a parent of a senior at Cristo Rey.
Negron and her husband say she and several dozen other parents received a letter in the mail from Cristo Rey detailing their new policy.
"This [past] Wednesday we received a letter stating that if our kids are not vaccinated by Monday, they have to leave the school," said Negron.
FOX 29 contacted the school and administrators say letters went out in June encouraging vaccinations ahead of the new school year, but the principal says due to the rise of the Delta variant, the recommendation turned into a requirement. The school says its policy changed on Aug. 11.
Parents say they feel as if they’re now left with no options for their children.
"What school can we apply for? All the deadlines are closed," said Season Starr, a parent of a senior at Cristo Rey.
Another parent says she wishes the school would offer alternatives instead of forcing them to make a quick decision.
"Even if I wanted to think about it, there’s no time to think about it. There’s no time for anything except just do what they said which is get my child vaccinated," said Shelley Alston, a grandparent of a student at Cristo Rey.
FOX29 reached out to Cristo Rey for comment and they released a statement that reads in part,
"Today, 100% of the faculty and staff are vaccinated and more than 75% of the student body has received at least one vaccine dose. We are proud of our vaccination rate today, but we know we must reach 100% fully-vaccinated, considering qualified exemptions, to mitigate risk and keep our students as safe as possible and in school." - Dr. Flannery O’Connor, Principal
The principal noted that if families arrive on Monday, Aug. 30 and decide they will vaccinate their child, they will still be allowed to attend classes. If students and families choose not to receive that first dose by then, school leaders say they won’t be allowed inside the building.
And that's how a school looses 25% of its students while having to deal with lawsuits. Parents have to hold the line and not allow these fascists to force poison into their children. These types of efforts need to be met with serious resistance.
Parents can join forces to find a solution that works. Besides, these schools are crap, parents and students should be happy they now are forced to find any alternative. Anything has to be better than this.

Teachers will be the very first group saying how that they arent doctors and that their medical demands should have been be ignored once vaxxed children start dying and angry parents come for them with force. So lets pre-empt all the deaths and just ignore them from the getgo.

When I first read this I thought this was a public school. After looking it up, "Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School is a private, independent, Catholic high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for students of all faiths from low-income families. The school has an innovative work-study model where each student works at a company in the Greater Philadelphia Area one day per week. It opened in 2012, becoming the 25th school in the larger Cristo Rey."
The Philadelphia public school system is trash. Cristo Rey is in North Philly which is the hood. These parents are not going to have the resources to change to a charter school or provide home schooling. Their best option is to move of of the city and probably into a red state. Between gov Wolf, mayor Kenny, along with the Soros funded Krasner, it's a recipe for toxic disaster.
All you need is a library card and a way to stay out of trouble. The last part world be the hardest part for them.
So pull them out of school. They can do a GED ON line. Their life is more important. Sue the school board and sue the city for the portion of your taxes going to education. Only the state legislature can make laws.

send each student with a letter stating that if there are any adverse reactions that they will be sued and personally held accountable make the school board sign it have it notarized. See what there reaction is . tell them if they wont sign it that they cant enforce their mandate....

Time to homeschool people. Don't abandon the notion of reforming the public schools and do what you can to speak out at school board meetings, run for leadership role if you're willing to serve, but in the meantime your kids are entitled to a sound education.
I highly recommend the Ron Paul Curriculum for the core subjects of English, History and Science. We have not tried the RPC math program. Students at and above 4th grade will be able to work mostly independently on their curriculum as all lessons are pre-recorded and assignments are prepared by the course professor in advance.

Funny how [they] ar running with the FDA's decision to certify Comirnaty, without actually having read the decision. It's still EUA for kids 12-15, which includes high school aged kids. Also says that there isnt enough Comirnaty shots to release totnrhboublic yet, so the EUA Pfizer/BioNTech shoy can be used.
