I realize shit is getting awful everywhere, but it seems Australia is getting it worse than everywhere else and I am now curious if there is a particular reason for it. Is there a major cabal/deepstate outfit operating in OZ or something?

Do you notice that the 100's of "Australian police" who are suppressing the crowds with violence and enforcing the draconian laws... are staying at luxury resorts? They aren't local police. In fact, most of them probably aren't even Australian.
They were brought in as a thug enforcement force by the Australian leaders, likely hired mercenaries.
That's why the tyranny. While the local police are busy directing traffic, preventing minor shoplifting and keeping the peace, the hired mercenary forces are the ones shooting tear gas and rubber bullets at the crowds and beating people into submission. The local police probably don't even recognize any of those "officers" committing violence.
I would also bet that the hired mercenary forces were told NOT to speak or yell anything at the crowds. If they did, it would quickly become apparent to everyone that they aren't even Australian.
One thing I'm surprised is that the Australian people don't track them "police forces" back to those luxury hotels... and then surge into those hotels at 3:00am and tear the place apart, catching the "police" unprepared and disorganized, rendering the hotel unusable (forcing the "police" to move) and exposing all of that crap for what it is. All it would take is a few thousand people willing to break down doors and drag people out of rooms, cut off the building's electricity and internet and disable all of those "police" vehicles in the parking lots.
Once it's exposed, find out which public officials hired the mercenaries and authorized the violence.
My theory is there proximity to China. I think it was easier to infiltrate the politicians.

What they are doing seems crazy to me. The Wuhan virus just isn't such a big deal there. I think their numbers are better than Sweden or Norway, who are doing NOTHING.

Australia is ridiculously rich in natural resources, South Australia for example is estimated to have over $3t worth of oil. A lot of people assume we are apart if the UK, but we are not - technically. Did you know Australia is the largest share holder of Antarctica? Owning approximately 40%. The US nor the UK have such ownership.

Yeah; we all want to find the immediate, at-hand, smoking gun, the sudden reason why democratic leaders became so evil. But it's not there: they were evil to begin with, but pretending to be democratic and popular had a better ROI than being overt despots. Until now.
