the bigger surprise was the reactions i got from my own family and friends after i saw that documentary, when i naively thought they'd have the same kind of awakening i did. my own mother, "How DARE you???"....my own brother, "fuck off!!!"....my friends all calling me stupid/naive/uneducated. that rejection was so harsh and painful to me, i had to go "into hiding" with my thoughts, opinions, knowledge. to this day i still don't know how to wake someone up. they won't or can't. and i can't try to make them anymore.
I was really struggling with this as more and more information came out and my views were 180 degrees different from most of my friends and family. I too kept thinking now they’ll see but they never did. I don’t think do yet. I hope the day will come when they know what we know so until then I don’t talk to them about this stuff.
