Not sure if I'm imagining it but at Tesco the other day it was fairly quiet but I think it was probably like a third of people without masks. Non compliance definitely seemed up on before Christmas.
I'm in the midlands - might be even higher up in parts of the north of England. This non compliance was reportedly in Lancashire (the north west). It's pretty much a shit hole up there.
My nearest town out where I live in the sticks has a market 2 days a week. I went to the market the week before Christmas to get my festive meat from the butcher and my cheese and fruit & veg and it was sad - I'd guess just under half of people were wearing masks outside. I'll be going to market next week and it'll be interesting to see what the outdoor mask wearing rate is.

Kids in the UK are telling authority to fuck right off. They are refusing to comply. They are the ones to use social media - more than we old crusties. It will get around and quick. Rebelling against their teachers, they will have some of that !!!! Will this transfer to other countries??? You bet it will.
So the young are making a stand and that will grow. I already see this when I go into town (south east england). They are loud and unmasked and I love to see it. They are smiling at me, different generations in the same shop, unmasked and not complying. Now when will the Gen X, and gen Z show their guts, if their ability to critically think hasn't calcified fully by now.
We stand with the young and collectively make a stand.
I'm Gen X too and I am embarrassed at how cucked my fellow Gen X are and I tell them. We used to eat dirt when we were kids of the 70's - well I did!!! We didn't give a fuck I agree but something happened. My side of the pond my fellow Gen X need to grow a pair. Speaking generally here, not all - I am dumbstruck at how a lot are. Still makes me sick how they bang on about remembrance day once a year, honouring those who fought and gave blood for their freedoms.

Very proud of him. My sister is like me also. Very traditionally gen x. Drink out of the water hose, stay out all night with a pillow case on Halloween night type. That's how we raise our children.
Yes, I feel proud too - whenever a young person shows guts and determination and goes against the grain. We need this in society. Very happy for you to have a bright young soul so close to you. From me a long way away and a stranger just to say that him speaking out his truths makes me smile and feel positive in these dark days. Very good to hear.
Wasn't the 70's fun tho - we entertained ourselves, we were not the centre of the family like kids now with everything revolving gluten free around us. We did what the family did, we enjoyed it and if we made a fuss we got sent to bed with no dinner.

My child refuses to wear one. Every kid in her class is wearing one, and the teacher has tried scaring her into wearing one (teacher and I are about to have it out). Still she refuses. I am so proud of her for standing up for what she believes in. Next year we are homeschooling. I am tired of this bs.

Knowledge found in the actions of the innocent. Children can teach lessons pure and true. They speak from the heart and soul, free from evil. I am proud of my mother’s people. It is incredibly difficult for Brits to stand directly in opposition to their “betters”. That lesson is beaten into them at an early age. That will explain “why” it’s the children standing and not the adults. The children have not suffered heavy handed dictatorial parents as their parents did. Good job munchkins! I get overheated and start to have a panic attack in the rare instances I absolutely need to put one on. God bless the children, they have no guile and go with their gut, the intuition and discernment God gave them and the state has not, yet, been able to override.
