my coworker is 17 and i asked her "Do you think all white people are oppressors or racist in some way shape or form?"
Her reply....
I am white, and my white privilege and what my people are, and what they have done, I just have to accept it as part of who I am.
shortly after, a customer showed up, so I slipped in a quick firm statement saying "I dont believe that shit." and she sorta chuckled/giggled at it. In your opinion technically what would you say to get debate this woke shit? Them damn schools teaching kids to hate themselves. it's sad
She is exhibiting extreme racism when she talks like that. I would use MLK's famous words about "content of character" because of the truth that is conveyed by him. We can hate sin, evil, bad character etc. but not people especially because of the color of their skin whether it be "red and yellow, black or white...we are all created in the image of God and that is where our value and worth come from.
Good point!
Just ask her what she personally has done to these people.
Very very few people actually owned slaves. Only people who could afford it.
Something like 50% of Jewish households owned slaves, and only 1% of white households. Let that sink in.
Tell her she's a good person, and she shouldn't be demoralized for past wrongs that she can't possibly control.
I think ALL races of people have historically done some evil shit.... slavery, wars, conquests, oppression, pillaging, etc, etc
I'm sure we all have blood ancestors that weren't nice people. But I don't blame myself (or anyone) for what previous generations have done.
Trying to right wrongs from hundreds of years, or even decades ago, is a losing battle and will only serve to demoralize you.
Yes, oppression is the default of a fallen world. The thing is, Christianity has been the exception to oppression and no race has embraced Christianity as thoroughly as whites have. The most significant slavery abolition movement was by Christians, mostly white. Chattel slavery still exists in Africa and Asia. The great deceiver satan has convinced envious dupes that slavery has been a peculiarly white crime, when the truth is the opposite. Just like how whites are only 9% of the world’s population but they’re the only race not to be considered a “minority”.
It's so ingrained in them and they aren't capable of seeing both sides, which does mean they are brainwashed. There has to be a reverse psychological method or something to be used. It will be a slow process. It will need to be broken into extremely small pieces of red pills and even proper thinking processes for them. A cognitive therapist would be a good person to ask. I mention that as they help with the way people think and help them to retrain the way they think. I had to do it. Of course, I wanted to, so it may be more difficult for those who don't think they need it.
The simple solution is to stop repressing facts. Start with eliminating academia’s and media’s gag order on truthfully reporting nonwhite crime and dysfunction.
Ask her “then why are whites the minority race as compared to population worldwide?”
Are the white Americans in the South the first humans to oppress another people based on race or country of origin?
Obviously not.
Did you oppress anybody or keep a slave?
Obviously not.
Should we go through history, figuring out which races oppressed others throughout history so we can tell which races are bad people?
Because the concept here, is that the girl is defective because of her DNA. In her DNA are the oppressor genes that people of color don't have, right?
So it isn't about when the oppression happened, is it?
So if you did that, went through human history to find all the instances of when one group of humans oppressed another group, what do you think we'd find?
That all humans have the capability of being oppressors. It isn't a racial thing.
Every race has been slaves.
Claim that anyone who believes that white privilege exists is a white supremacist by definition.
She'll reject that notion.
So, take her through this logic train:
Ask her when the exact date was when white people gained their white privilege.
If not an exact date, then a time period.
Seriously, ask her what historical point in time white people suddenly had every advantage over virtually every other race of peoples simply by virtue of their skin tone.
Tangentially ask why every other race failed to take the place of white people as the privileged race. What makes white people so special that they alone are guilty of a superior racial privilege? What allowed white people to advance beyond all other races and seat themselves at the top of the social hierarchy? What causes white people to be universally oppressive of other races?
Then ask her why other races failed... What made them less capable of securing the lofty spot at the top?
There's the stinger.
The only way she can get out of saying that white people are just naturally better at being the oppressive ruling class (proving she is a white supremacist) is to say that there is no white privilege, there is only cultural privilege, of which race is merely a variable, just like anything else that makes two people different.
Of that, I'm sure, we can all agree.
Ultimately, individuals have no privilege; individual privilege is a fantasy. Privilege is not inherent to an individual's circumstances. When stranded on a remote island, what privilege could an individual possibly have? How does their skin tone entice a coconut to fall off a tree easier?
Privilege only applies in a context -- in societal cultures and how the majority view individuals based on stereotypes unique to the cultural world view.
No amount of self-hate is going to change the cultural privilege dynamic. Only positive representation of your unique attributes, including race, will encourage others to view those like you positively. It's really as simple as that, and is a fundamental component of human psychology.
So, ask her, how has hating her own race and thinking down upon herself for actions she was never involved with, done by people she isn't related to, and before she was ever born, changed her life, or anyone else's life, for the better?
Has hating herself been a benefit in any way? Has it encouraged her to stay positive and pursue her dreams? Or has it convinced her she is unworthy of happiness solely on account of her skin color?
Has her own self deprecation set a positive look for those she represents? Or has it only served to reinforce the stereotypes surrounding those like her?
There is no good in hating one's self for things you can not and couldn't have ever controlled.
Man this is good. Thank you for this post
Hit "privilege" first, you can counter with Affirmative Action (the only truly "systematically" racist thing that I am aware of.)
Potentially explain how big slavery was world wide prior to US. How it became popularized here and how it eventually almost died here before they made everyone a slave. If you can, tie that in with how the legal system in the US has been trying to classify it's citizens as corporations to maintain control of the populace as well as allow for free trade of people, all the while trying to establish human rights for corporations (brick and mortar buildings) to establish what looks from here to be an oligarchy.
Slavery never ended, they just found a way to include everyone.
I think you did good. You didn't have time to itemize how wrong it is. Sounds like she came to a trusted adult for feedback. Good job!
I've got a white boy coworker in his 20's who tells people that he hates America and is ashamed to be white and who laughs in my face each time I bring him truthful information which I stopped doing to keep myself from seriously injuring him. I've tried past 3yrs trying to help the boy but there's nothing that can be done
Try reverse psychology, blame her for mistakes you and her coworkers make. If she doesn’t push back, she might be a list cause.
The best you can do is help the person use their own damn brains, point the obvious BS.
Point the fact that slavery existed in Africa(and everywhere else) among it's myriad tribes LONG before big bad white man showed up.
Ask whether or not a black family should expect reparations from the grandson of the black guy who just shot their loved one dead, ask them if that would make any sense.
Ask what the definition of racism is, which, in simple terms, would be treating someone differently based on their race, then ask what sense does it make to try and fight that, by treating people differently based on their race.
Ask her a few things: have white people done anything good? Why internalize the bad while ignoring the good? Aren't we all filled with a little of both? Shouldn't we focus on what we want to be, rather than what we don't want ti be?
Who built the modern world?
There's a popular expression in some churches: "God don't make no junk."
I prefer the indications of these verses:
The Great Multitude in White Robes: Rev. Chapter 7
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
This says God saves some from every group of Earth's people. In the end, it shall constitute "a great multitude." He didn't throw out the European races and label them as "junk."
Schools and media have been promoting CRT for a long time. It used to be a bit more subtle, but now it is growing rapidly worse. CRT is part of the Communist plan to demoralize and divide a nation in order to conquer and control. Communism is satanic. The globalists are satanic Communists. They will lose this battle. Biden says the next Supreme Court judge MUST be a black female [regardless of actual qualifications]. This is the fruit of CRT. So who will be granted the privilege here? Certainly not a white person. Reverse discrimination and appointment via affirmative action.
She isn't 'woke' she's a kid. Kids are stupid, they simply have not lived long enough to know anything.
She told you a Thing because that's what was expected of her is all.
