A vehicle you can generate the fuel for at home? With a solar install and some batteries you can go off grid ANYWHERE, live 500 miles from the next person and still drive around daily.

Just because it employs lots of people doesn't mean that its an industry worthy of being saved. Like 20% of truckers today are immigrants which to me shows Americans don't really wan't the career. Its not like it will be phased out overnight as it would probably take 10-15 years to move over current logistics to something that can support autonomous vehicles.

I've said it a dozen times on here. Don't overestimate military and police power. We outnumber them 50 vs 1 when we work together. The only reason police ever win any fight ever is they isolate the people and use their radios to call for more people to outnumber them 10 vs 1. Why do you think a huge percentage of police deaths are traffic stops in the middle of nowhere and its 1-2 officers vs 1-4 thugs... because its an even fight and help is 20 minutes away for the cop(s).
