I just started listening to the Hobbit/LOTR on audiobook. The hobbit was INCREDIBLE. I’m on fellowship OTR now.
I will not accept drinking or drugging as an answer. If you “dabble” that’s cool but it’s not a hobby. If it’s all you do, I suggest learning a new skill.
Don’t tell me this isn’t a Q post. For all you know, I am Q

Easy: I find peace through prayer. Problem solved.
YMMV
Yep this, one I started making this my #1 routine, I started to see the tactics clear as day and face them as a challenge.
Don't forget humor, too.
But in all seriousness, this is the right answer. This is a spiritual war and you are feeling overwhelmed it is because you are trying to do too much yourself and not recognizing that God is in control.
Take a moment to reconnect with the holy spirit and if you have an action, do it, if you don't, then stand in awe of the incredible way everything is being exposed.
I recognise the psyops as a sign of their desperation and rejoice. Is that they best they have?
LOTR is a good match for our times IMO
I always loved the books, but haven't seen the movies. would a based 8 year old be able to watch them? so much crap out there, trying to find some good movies for him.
IMO the films would be a bit traumatic for an 8yo. The hobbit book might be accessible enough for him if he's a strong reader.
thanks and yes, he loves to read, so will get the book and see if he's even interested/might not be his thing.
Narnia for kids, written by one of Tolkien's best friends. Read them aloud before exposing the kids to any movies!
Life goes on. Work. Play. It's all the same.
Instead of constantly worrying about the latest example of tyranny unbound or even the flip side, attempting to decode and figure out the moves on the chess board... I've given myself over to faith.
All is as it should be, whether we like the results or not. When evil comes knocking on your door, wear the armor of God and stand accordingly.
I have recently found Christian music, I must admit it helps. I also try to spend as much time with my family as I can
Nature.
XC ski Fish Icefish Hunt Exercise in summer ourdoors with biking kayaking etc. Growing/tending a garden.
Anything without our silicone obsessions.
Same here anon. Spring is near. Time for gardening, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors.
I am neither stressed or demoralised: God is in control, His Kingdom come, His Will be done. Don't need Tolkien, got the Bible - way better.
Agreed yet there's nothing wrong with Tolkien though. His works are inspired by & rooted in Christian creation theology.
I'm with C S Lewis as far as Tolkien goes. Still, each to his (or her) own, enjoy.
"We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.” -Lewis
yes, definitely have to remember it's God's will:)
the Q-Source is the common material between Matthew and Luke; http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/q-contents.html
And the prayer Our Father is in Both books; "thy will be done"...
Luke 11:1-4 1 And so it was, that as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come: Let thy will be done, even in earth, as it is in heaven:
3 Our daily bread give us for the day:
4 And forgive us our sins: for even we forgive every man that is indebted to us: And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil.
Give us this day our daily bread, one can only eat today's bread.
You troll them until they cry and then you make memes of them crying.
Uhm… listening to someone tell a story isn’t a hobby either, lol. But good on you, regardless. My de-stress is paying attention to every move they make, It makes me feel more in control of any manipulation or misinformation being pushed on me. I also go to the pub, I have a few beers and discuss the current situation with a like minded friend. I meet lots of other like minded people, informed and eager to engage in these types of discussions. They say not to talk politics at a bar, but that’s where I get the general vibe of the people. Patriots are not afraid to discuss what is happening, they want to discuss these things and vent their frustrations. Finding patriots in the wild makes me feel much better about what is coming.
Actually, take a lot more camping trips and see America.
me too! just bought a van and making plans for the summer. Mt. Rushmore again for sure, and would also love to go to Mt. Vernon, etc. never been east of the Mississippi in a car...except for Wisconsin, don't think that counts;)
Mt. Rushmore was really good to see in person, at the same time we did Devils Tower, camped there, not far from Rushmore. I highly recommend it, for sure it's an old tree stump but ginormous! Volcanic eruptions don't happen in perfect hexagonal columns.
yes, the DT stories sound fascinating, maybe could do that & Yellowstone. hope the new show hasn't had any influence on the area/don't want anything too touristy.
Exercising, reading good fiction books (no dystopian ones though), and playing some single player video games.
Im doing 75 hard and hanging out here.
I prep.nevery time I make a purchase, I think how I am protecing my family and giving my finger to the DS. I also pray but have trouble turning God into a vending machine. These three things help immensely. My husband just got diagnosed with cancer the week. I have no control over what is happening now I am deep cleaning the house in preparation for his chemotherapy. just one more stress to manage.
Look into alternatives to chemo, the chemo kills more than it heals! Coming from a pede who lost a close one to cancer.
Gardening has been great for me.
Walking in the woods with the boy and dog
I've been working my way through the New Testament, designing things in Canva, watching van life videos for camping ideas,
AND taking care of my newest puppy!🥰
he's a Newfoundland & he just turned 2 sweetest guy ever, and came at the perfect time for our family, brought him home on 7/1/2020. was 40lbs and now over 150😎
Prayer, first and foremost. Friends and fellowship are excellent decompression tools. Laughter and kindness with them, sharing hugs.
I find terrific solace in music, whether it be classical or something else. Angry music is good, because it allows for an outlet of angst and rage through words and heavy rhythms instead of physical or verbal anger.
Getting outside for a while, even if it's cold for a good shot of cold fresh air. There are many ways to rebalance yourself. There's no one tool, but we must enjoy the little things, the great gifts of simplicity we were meant to enjoy.
Blessings, may God be with you in your times of need.
Read God’s word, attend church, and surround yourself with other fellow believers.
