Also over heating the hair and scalp to repeatedly damage or destroy the hair.
Styling is also known (in many mainstream use cases) to damage your hair, and a lot of women tend to get these treatments done.
Finally, over use of keratin is not good for your hair and there have been more than a few high profile instances of hair loss after using keratin treatments.

A) This is an auto-immune disease and we have lots of experience developing immune suppressive therapies for auto-immune diseases that can be adapted. B) It's a disease that will require ongoing maintenance therapy, so any new drug is a new potential revenue stream.
The drugs in question are still very much in development. Some are still doing Phase I safety tests. Some are doing dose ranging studies in Phase II. Most of them that I was able to find in a quick search of clinicaltrials.gov were using hybrid Phase II/III hybrid designs, which are designed to save money and time, and which the FDA is now tolerating because of their experience with the COVID vaccine trials.
We're still years from seeing any of these commercially available.
