The neat thing about large bodies of water is that they (tend to) naturally replenish. Even during periods of raised temperatures, it should not be enough to decisively destroy a lake.

I would simply argue that lake mead is being used up for excessive washing, drinking and watering

I don't know enough about Lake Mead and the area, other than I toured the Hoover Dam and had a sister that used to live in Bullhead City so she would go to Lake Mead a lot. However, even with people using the water downstream, this seems severe. Not only from 2001 to present, but from 2 weeks ago to present! Something is not right there. Are more water rights sold upstream taking water from it? Is more water being taken from downstream and it's not being replaced? What is going on?

In Oregon, all our lakes are full and rivers are raging.
