Most states have state guards that are not NG affiliated. At least in the south. What's bad ass is that he's actively recruiting folks. I'm curious as to whether or not they train with weapons .
If they don't, then it's toothless. However, if a program is introduced that trains them in use, safety, maintenance and protocols this could actually be something that has some serious value in putting Florida into a power position in future disputes.

DeSantis' people just released that they now have the funds to expand beyond the first tranche of 400 FL Guard soldiers. Gov. DeS. said they need more for hurricane season alone.
