Been meaning to share this for a while. I discovered it some years ago and used it to heal damaged nerves after an operation left one side of my groin completely numb. I used DMSO and after a while all the feeling returned.
Since then its helped with severe arthritis. I'd been taking MSM and Glucosamine Sulphate for some time, With DMSO topical applications to affected areas freed me of all pain and reduced bone swelling.
Carpal tunnel was another problem that caused a lot of pain. Tried The Carpal Solution without success (money back guarantee is a con - no replies). In desperation I used MDSO with a few drops of Magnesium oil (another must have item) and the pain has gone. Still get a little tingling and further applications get rid of.
Recently I tripped and fell awkwardly: my foot was badly bruised and sprained. Daily applications of DMSO and Mg oil - no pain, was able to walk without hobbling. After 4 days the swelling went. Used it also on painful shoulder and badly hurt shin - pain all gone.
Demonised in the west where Big Pharma deemed it unsafe for human use, it is widely used in E Europe to cure cancer, strokes, blood clots and much more. The 99.9% pure I get comes from Poland. I believe it is available in the US for animal use.
What is DMSO? - European American Evangelistic Crusades (pdf)
and other articles available online. Observe the protocols and its perfectly safe, I've not had any side effects. Took a small dose orally a while back and in seconds my congested sinuses cleared and I could breathe deeply; it was as though I'd been transported to the top of a mountain.
It has remarkable healing and restorative properties - worth looking into. Could be a life saver for vax damaged people. Wish I could persuade people I know with ADHD and autism to try it, seems it can help with that as well.
The main property of DMSO is that it can cross the skin barrier and get inside the body through the dermal layer. But instead of using only DMSO, I use a gel that used to be prescription-only but now is available OTC, Voltaren (Diclofenac sodium).
Voltaren allows me to play guitar, mandolin, and banjo, whereas NOT using Voltaren makes those instruments much more difficult and painful. Also simple daily activities (like typing this comment) are easier if I use Voltaren.
Add magnesium oil - helps enormously. Not easily absorbed from the gut so topical applications are best - just keep off broken skin or it will sting. If that happens, just rinse off. I add it to my home made toothpaste too, wonderful stuff.
I envy your musical skill., I'm still trying to learn to play the uke - think I left it too late. Must try harder...
I have rather significant degenerative done disease due to being way too hard on my body when I was younger.
I lived in awful pain for many years and only recently learned about glucosamine with MSM.
That crap has been life altering. So much of the arthritic bone on bone in my spine is gone. Not 100 percent but enough to get my life back.
I'll look into this stuff youre talking about op, thanks!
My arthritis got so bad my daughter had to tie my shoe laces. MSM and Gluc Sulph changed all that, was able to go back to gardening which I love. Magnesium oil is a MUST, DMSO is terrific, I thank God for leading me to them.
Glad to hear you've been recovering. Here's another excellent supplement for arthritis -- SAMe. My SiL had arthritis ~ 30 years ago and was told by her doc that she just wouldn't be able to use her hands in two or three years; the drugs being prescribed at that time were very bad for the liver and didn't really do anything except kill the pain. She started on 800mg of SAMe daily and her hands got better and she can still use them without pain.
Like glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM, SAMe actually heals the joints and unlike Rx drugs it has side-benefits instead of dangerous side effects. SAMe is protective of the liver and in larger doses is as good as or better than SSRIs for lifting depression. SAMe is something your body makes already; just not enough as we get older or if you have trouble making it (for reasons of diet, genetics, or whatever).
My wife and I get ours at Life Extension (SAMe, 400mg, 60 tablets). Not cheap: Currently $45 / qty 4. For joint and liver health, 400 to 800mg are typical recommendations. For depression, 1200mg is what I've seen recommended.
Take with co-factors vitamins B12, B6, and folic acid.
I have no connection with LEF except as a long-time customer.
I'd consider also adding NAC, an inexpensive ($6.75/bottle) supplement that does good things for your whole body.
I've been taking NAC over a year. Also life changing.
This helped significantly with the chronic inflammation associated with the degenerative disease.
I should note, I'm not old either. Early 40s, but way too hard on my body in my teens and 20s.
NAC has also helped with managing stressful situations, because it clears out the toxins in the body so you're not always in fight or flight mode.
What is MSM?
MethylSulfonylMethane, also known as DMSO2. Closely related to DMSO, it has one more oxygen atom in its molecular makeup.
Thank You
Thank you.
Idk it's a compound that is in many glucosamine. It's recommended for arthritis.
I had a bad shoulder from Rotator Cuff injury. Very limited motion in that arm. For two years I tried the Volteran and various other topicals, as well as OTC pain meds. Was considering surgery. I got some high grade DMSO and applied one to two times a day and within 2-3 weeks my shoulder is near normal. No more pain and my arm has nearly full range of motion. Be sure and get the good stuff, otherwise you will smell like garlic.
Yay!
How did you apply it? Just a few drops directly onto the shoulder, or did you mix it with something else?
I have tried this for my arthritis, it does do much at all. I don't use the industrial chinese muck, I use 100% chemical grade DMSO.
Whats the best way to apply it? I smear it on my joints using medical gauze, I don't use a lot of it. Do you have to pour the stuff on liberally?
Try Japanese Knotweed and CBD
What strength DMSO did you used? 50 - 70% (30% max on face) is advised for topical use. I add Magnesium oil (make your own using Mg pure / Zechstein crystals and letting them dissolve). Small amount of each applied to affected areas.

I found that this is the most difficult medication to swallow, regular use also creates a foul smelling body odour. (for the reader's awareness).
But I found it effective against arthritic joint pains.
Creates a garlicky body odor for sure!
I only use it orally very occasionally, not aware of any odour with topical use.
It kills bacteria, the body odor is probably a Herxheimer reaction.
Ty do or the info fren. Ive had a painful bum knee off and on for a few yrs. Going to give it a try
Question, recently had total knee replacement, it's been 3 months, I still have lots of knee pain and swelling, tiger balm is helping, but I need something for the foreign body and the bone. any suggestions with DMSO
Try it. Won’t hurt and take turmeric curcurmin with it. I use it on my horses and have for at least 30 years. Hubby swears by it for his feet neuropathy.
Just reviewing this older topic and saw this. Does your husband apply DMSO regularly for the neuropathy or did it disappear after a application regiment?
Learned about DMSO from this topic and that's what I'd like to try it for.
Thanks!
Not advisable to use with foreign objects:you would need to check if the material used in the knee replacement would react with MDSO. As far as I know, steel is OK (non-absorbent) but many plastics are not. If its not going to react then use it with Magnesium oil - see my reply to earlier posts where I mention it :)
Christopher’s Original Comfrey Ointment. Comfrey’s old-timey name is “bone knit.” Read up. Amazing stuff.
Came here w/that Q too! Not quite 4 weeks but looking ahead...
You need to reduce inflammation and the best way is through food. Quit all grains and dairy. Take high quality fish oil and magesnium l-threonate. Try Great Lakes collagen powder, we lose collagen as we age (I’ve been taking it for 7 years or so, daily)
99.9% DMSO: Nature's Gift Ghent, Kentucky
8 fl. oz bottle.
Thank you for sharing your information also.
I have used it on arthritic sheep, loosens up the joint right away. I am cautious to use it on myself. I was, after 35 years, finally diagnosed with chronic Lyme.Yes, I did get bit, yes I did have a bullseye rash, yes I was sick with flu like symptoms when it happened. It took this long to find a doctor to say it was not wear and tear arthritis. The bacteria works more like a parasite, burrows into joints and tendons and basically munches away at it till its almost gone. In this case, the DSMO,which is a solvent, does not work as well, it does work good when there is a build up of "gunk", calcium, etc, in the joints. There was a case about 20 + years ago where a woman was in surgery and when they opened her up, the fumes coming from her were from the DMSO, apparently it does not clear the body once there. Number one thing you can do for arthritis is to stop eating and drinking foods that cause inflammation, sugar, wheat, preservatives, I also learned, from my new Doc, that histamines can cause systemic damage, not just "allergies", and that when the histamine levels are uncontrolled, the inflammation runs rampant. Low histamine foods must be fresh, and try it, no alcohol, sugar, gluten or fermented products. It is hard to accept that cheese is a no no, but I would try the diet, take claritin every 12 hours and Pepsid AC once a day, both histamine blockers. It is too late for me to do the antibiotic for the Lyme, no one knew about it when I had it. DMSO, will work on knees, but for me, it was temporary. The area that it is applied must not be covered, as it is a solvent and anything that it comes in contact with will break down and also be absorbed.
Good advice, thanks: all things in MODERATION is the way to go, including miracle cures ;)
Have you tried Buhner herbs for Lyme? I’ve had Lyme and Bartonella for 40 years, was misdiagnosed with “Multiple Sclerosis.” I’ve had great success treating with Japanese Knotweed, Cats Claw, etc and my LLMD put me on LDN. It takes so long, it’s been 3 years of healing, but I’m now off almost all herbs and supplements and doing so much better. All my “MS” symptoms are gone, funny how that works.
How wonderful! I don't have to tell you what an excruciating journey it has been. I am taking N Acetyl-l-Cysteine Alpha Lipoic Acid-Collagen-High Ptency B complex-Ubiquinol Co Enzyme-Glutamine-Enzymes with probiotics.Since I've been showing symptoms of Mass Cell Activation from the Lyme, I have to stay out of the sun,my doc wants me to follow low histamine diet for now, nothing fermented or cured, ages, smoked, etc. Gluten free. Claritin and Zantec. I have started Colloidal silver 2 teaspoons morning and night-and as soon as the herbs come I am doing a parasite cleanse with Wormwood Black Walnut and Oregano Oil. Once that is done, I am going to use the Japanese Knotweed Cats Claw. I just found out last week after years of terrible arthritis, hip replacement. If they had caught it back then it would not have done as much damage, but the antibiotic treatment does not assure to get all of those little devils. I will miss cheese greatly, but my Doc thinks if I can get the inflammation down, some things can be reintroduced. I've used Colloidal silver for years to fight infections, it works. I realize this will be a long process, but life with Lyme is only a half life. The vitamins are not cheap but luckily I have the means as I dont spend my money on things I do not need. God Speed in your recovery.
Been using DMSO on horses lumps an bumps for years. Get a leg swelling, apply it and it's down by next morning. Used it on myself as well. Great stuff.
Heard good things but be very careful as if there's anything on your skin it'll get absorbed as well because the DMSO 'drags' it in. Also there are certain medications you should NOT be taking with DMSO that are commonly taken by people with chronic pain. I recommend reading "Healing with DMSO". (But I'm not an expert on it).
Indeed, you have to be careful: use distilled / purified water. Apply onto clean skin and not come into contact with toxic substances for a while after using it.
I love this stuff. Take 1 tsp daily in water just because
I know this is an old thread, but just going to see if I get a response. I just started taking DMSO oraly, 1 tsp. every morning. Question, how long have you been taking this and have you had any troubles from it??
For over a decade friend. My husband is in afib. I have had issues with with blood pressure this is a life saver esp for my husband who takes dmso along with serrapeptase and nattokinase
Thanks for the information. I just started a daily regimine of DMSO. I am looking forward to the rewards. I'm fighting high blood pressure at the moment, kicked the statin meds to the curb. Justs trying to get 20 good years till my demise.
You ought to research this thoroughly friend. It’s also a life saver when a person is having a stroke. I did this for my husband when he had a heart attack, not knowing what was going on.
The doctors at the hospital were shocked that his heart sustained no appreciable damage. I had given him 3 doses 15 minutes apart before the hospital ride. 1 tsp DMSO in 8oz distilled water
Any thoughts on this working on numbness in feet and outer sides of thighs?
Been experiencing numbness in my feet a few years now but also feel swollen at times as they start feeling tight in shoes but pretty sure still the same size.
Outer thighs started about a couple years ago and thinking it's effecting my sleep as I'm a side sleeper.
I've looked up and tried all sorts of supplements with no luck, I've mentioned both during doctor's visits several times and been told a couple times it's probably diabetes, lets wait for blood test results. I am overweight and way more so at the time but at the most was ever diagnosed with being pre-diabetic. Any who, I never followed up on the numbness.
The thighs may be from a diabetic issue, when I was diagnosed prediabetic I was heavily drinking and consuming obscene amounts of carbs.
As for my feet, I heavily suspect those stupid Addidas slippers with the nubs. I'd bought a pair thinking it would be like a foot massage but found out quite the opposite. No recollection of how long I ended up wearing them before tossing, but it was a bit and then went to wearing with socks to help reduce the "massage" but after seeing holes wearing into the socks I tossed em. I'm not known for my powers of recollection, but I'm fairly certain this is about the same time I started experiencing the foot issues. Although again, was drinking heavily, smoking too.
Anyways, I've tried numerous things with no results, in general none of my issues are debilitating, but I think the thighs are inhibiting sleep and my feet inhibit lengthy walks and tightish shoes.
I'm guessing the DMSO is applied topically? Any guides for use would be appreciated as well.
Topically on clean skin. Tips on use in many posts on here. Hope it gives you speedy relief.
So you don't dilute it, full strength applications?
Are you using liquid or gel?
I get 99.9% pure and dilute with purified water: 30% max if used on face and neck, 50-70% on rest of the body. May be wise to start with lower doses, be aware that it is a strong detoxifier so you may get mild reaction. Can also be mixed with aloe vera and other things like magnesium oil - good for arthritis, sprains etc.
Awesome, thanks!
I'll still have to research a little more, but I'd love to know where you get it/brand. There seems to be a great variance in price.
Thanks again, even if it doesn't remedy my woes I'm sure it will help my old bag sisters! (said with love, I'm only 7 years behind lol)
I'm in the UK; I get the Polish iChemiapl brand on Ebay. Don't know what's available in the US, go for the purest.
Look into quadramune. You can buy it on Amazon. Very small company, and the website is not the best. But they spend most of their money on research. It has done wonders for my seasonal allergies. And when friends or family get sick I don’t. Maybe the sniffles for a day or two. This stuff works. My husband who hates supplements has even started taking it.
That was a while back; I was super cautious so probably a low dose of 5ml with distilled / purified water (probably around 30-50ml.) did this on waking when my stomach was empty. Hope you get some relief.
I also use a neti pot with tepid saline water and a little colloidal silver (30ppm) for sinus rinses. Useful if you some across fungal spores or similar.
:)
I researched DMSO as part of a design project in engineering school. DMSO doesn't treat much of anything itself, what it does do (for lack of better word) is make your skin more permeable so various medications can pass through and be absorbed topically.
I disagree, it healed the numbness I had after verve damage during surgery. Its also helping with carpal tunnel.
And you said you took it with other things so nowhere in your statement do you prove me wrong.
That was the first time I tried it, used on its own. It was much later I found it could be used with other things. See suave200's post - healed shoulder only using DMSO.
