This resulted in the mansion being incomplete in the eyes of the occupancy inspector. The result was that JB and his wife got to live in their home for another year at the reduced tax rate for another year worth over a million dollars in taxes. After he got into office he then doubled the state employment taxes even though the state constitution said they couldn't do that. There is a reason that people are leaving Illinois in droves.
