I got spanked so hard the sound of my crying left the human auditory spectrum. There was a pause between sound of about 8 seconds. All the visuals were there. The face of horror, the tears, the wide open mouth but no sound. I remember it even made my father hit the pause button on the ass whooping as he hadn't encountered an "ass whooping" scenerio that had so much return on investment. Once he realized I was simply catching my breath and that the action simply created a black hole where not even sound could escape he finished the job.
The honest to God truth is that I probably would have loved my father less should he have not disciplined me. No one should respect a wet noodle. My father is no wet noodle.
HS Coaches would use the WONDER PADDLE...damn thing had holes in it and when you bent over the table, the paddle would whistle through the air...AND THEN BAM!!! Feet would actually lift off the floor...
Now, ask me how I know!!!!π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£ππππππππππππππππ
Had, my kid EVER gotten paddled, I'd have broken that thing across the teacher's/coach's/dean's/principal's skull and put them in the hospital. God as my witness.
You DO NOT EVER HIT MY KID FOR ANY REASON. I will discipline my child myself, with NO help from any other. My discipline will be just as harsh, or worse, and will be rightfully administered ... AS A PARENT IS DUTIFULLY BOUND.
I am the parent, no one else. I need NO ONE ELSE'S HELP disciplining my child. ABSOLUTELY tell me in great detail everything my kid did wrong in my absence ... but leave the actual discipline to ME. Keep your F`ing sense of authority to yourself.
Now, that being said ... little liberal princess needs a reality check, definitely.
Yeah it straightened me up too, but only a certain percentage of the population responds this way to spankings, and usually with traumatic side effect that people will deny because their parents loved them and don't want to accept that their punishment methods actually were damaging psychologically...
The issue with my generation isn't a lack of spankings, it's a lack of fathers and strong males growing up. Men don't have to hit children to teach them because children aren't animals they are small humans, so we should use the same methods we use with other humans.
"Damaging psychologically"? Yes yes, that's right. Sometimes when walking the hallway at work I'll pass co-workers up that will randomly flinch while cowering and looking up at me like Smeagol from Lord of the Rings. Then as I apprach a bit closer I can hear them say......"no,..no... papa! I didn't take any candy from the forbidden sugar jar! Please..no more spankings papa! Your going to give me psychological damage up until my 40's!"
They usually come to after I gently tap on their shoulder and tell them everything is gonna be ok. I tell them that life is gonna be fine and full of fucking gum drops and hello kitty shit. I tell them how they'll never encounter pain and trauma but if they ever should feel any fear that they should drop a little gum drop in their yapper and they will come back to "Unicornia" where a fucking unicorn will promptly wisk them away into the rainbow but not before giving them a tour of the hello kitty factory where all workers are 18 or older and suicide nets bounce you up like a trampolin into a ball pit made of warm Smores.
Fuk-outa-here Silo! We're talking about spankings not beatings. You need to Amazon yourself some testosterone, a Penthouse and a pack of reds and man the fuck up lol.
Fuk. I can hear Silo now.."Penthouse objectifies woman and you should really start looking and appreciating them for their barf..(whimpers)...blah..(crying)..blah..(lispy words)..blahh..blah.."
So many people downvoting you and upvoting those talking about the abuse they received like it was this great normal thing.
They are coping so hard, because they are jealous they weren't treated like kids today..
You are 100% right that it is damaging psychologically, and they are deflecting so hard, and coping that beatings are what turned them into good people, and not good roll models.
My brother is a wonderful child, who has never been beat, and is the sweetest thing in the world. He cries horribly when he's in trouble, because he knows he did wrong and feels guilt. We did not need to slap that into him.
He has had strong male role models in his life, and had people around him with good morals, that is all that is needed to raise a kid right.
I still remember being told "Dont touch the stove, it's hot..." red hot burner, my smart ass pressed my finger down on it. I never did that again. Picked my burnt fingertip for daaays. I was 4. Good times!
Yes, most likely. But there is definitely a difference. What you and Silo and yes, many of us others might have experienced (abuse) and the type of spanking a loving parent administers. They happen only occasionally and are applied to little bottoms that are naturally padded and can handle a couple of not-too-hard pats. Sometimes they can be a life-saver.
Well shit! My bad. I guess Silo should have mentioned beatings rather than "spankings".
I guess it's my fault for taking Silo's words for their definition. Let me know when this conversation gets back to literal meanings rather than metaphorical.
You can't have it both ways especially when speaking of such topics. You will be held and ridiculed to your words around here.
It was always the threat of spanking that kept us in line. Back in those days, it was the norm so you expected it but (in my case) never actually got it.
Never spanked as a child, no consequences for anything, everyone gets a trophy.
Spanking isn't discipline.
Thatβs not how I remember it. Straightened my ass up quick.
I remember, "Stop crying or I'll really give you something to cry about!" as she bare-handed spanked my little girl thigh.
I remember one time she hit me so hard she broke a vein in her hand.
She'd also say, "This is hurting me more than it is you."
You too huh. :/
I remember running in circles to avoid the belt! I even put a magazine down my pants once. Those were the days.
My parents would use a fly swatter.

Sounds like a parent who loves you and just wants the best for you.

That business is the gayest shit ever
I remember those. I remember one guy who had no padding on his bottom (super skinny). I think the teach got his tail bone because he was hurting.
Had, my kid EVER gotten paddled, I'd have broken that thing across the teacher's/coach's/dean's/principal's skull and put them in the hospital. God as my witness.

Silo is talking about narcissist parents that beat the shit out of you for asking a question.

I can recognize when someone is talking about their own narcissistic "parents." I unfortunately know exactly what the deal is, fren.

I'm surprised you came back after getting SPANKED so hard for your comments.
Sorry, couldn't resist. (Yeah, maybe it doesn't work for you... that's okay fren)
Violence is the only language some people understand. Thats why cops carry guns.
Humans are hard wired to learn from pain.
I'm not referring to a beating or child abuse, but a smacked arse is preferable to learning what pulling a hot pan of water over myself feels like.
I still remember being told "Dont touch the stove, it's hot..." red hot burner, my smart ass pressed my finger down on it. I never did that again. Picked my burnt fingertip for daaays. I was 4. Good times!
Silo is referring to narcissistic parents that beat the shit out of you for no reason, with no alcohol or drugs needing to be consumed.
Yes, most likely. But there is definitely a difference. What you and Silo and yes, many of us others might have experienced (abuse) and the type of spanking a loving parent administers. He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Try that with your kids. They'll be perfect for Twitter as employees in 18 years.
