Breaking: Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts Blocks Handover of Trump Tax Forms to House Democrats
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts on Tuesday blocked the handover of President Trumpβs tax forms to House Democrats in their latest fishing expedition targeting Trump. Democrats and their supporters in Big Tech, Big Pharma, and Big Corporations are ...
Every Democrat that is involved with this must be REQUIRED to show their tax returns first
the whole point of this exercise is to force Congress to pass a law requiring elected officials to turn over their taxes.
No one is commenting about Roberts being the one to do itβ¦.
That was my first thought, and so it makes me highly skeptical to his motives. But certain it is part of the plan.
Trump has the receipts on HIM!!
It's not gonna save the justice from Justice.
He doesn't want anyone looking at his taxes.
This probably isn't a good thing. First, it does not set a precedent for the white hats to be able to audit other politicians and second, it gives the black hats more whining material.
But on the flip side, it also keeps the "privacy" aspect intact for normal citizens...
Politicians are audited. They must show a number of years when they run. When Trump won the presidency, the I.R.S. automatically audits him each year. IF....IF they see anything that should be 'audited/questioned', they alert congress to do so.
The IRS already said in the beginning, they told congress there was no there there. The cabal keeps asking for things they don't have to show.
Trump is clean, and he was audited each year in office. If they missed something before....well that is their fault. Then matters are worked out.
What they are asking for, Roberts should block. We have never seen and never will see, anything like they are asking for.
Correct A chess play On one side it's now determined his tax records are private/privileged documents, which probably will reflect on the legality of their seizure.
A supposed offering as tit-for-tat, hoping to defend using same.
Would this apply in military tribunals? Doubt it.
we will see, as the article states it is a temporary block. from the hill:
Probably just kicking the can past the midterms. Even Roberts knows a red wave is coming and he is running off the beach.
Likely can't release much of it. There were quite a few years Trump was involved with BIG sting operations...mob,...casinos...Rico shit. All that will stay under wraps.
Am I insane or don't they already have his returns? I thought they got them a year ago...speaking in terms of openly receiving them through some legal channel - was it deutsche bank that handed them over? Or handed them to NY authorities? Something to that effect.
You bet your ass they have them. At least illegally. And if they had anything in them noteworthy, they would simply leak.
Rachel Maddow got a copy of his 2005 tax return and made a huge deal about it.
Then the big reveal was Trump paid a lot of taxes.
Roberts blocked this? Has he flipped for a deal? I know there are no deals. But I bet you have to cut some deals to get information.
Roberts is suspectβ¦ I donβt trust anything he does is for the good of us or humanity.

I like it - whether Roberts did it willingly or not it takes away a major story right before the midterms. You know they would've "leaked" something saying they found massive fraud so they could sway the elections, and afterwards someone would've come out and said "oops, my bad".
I would have been fine with it either way at this point. NCSWIC.
I'd like to know what authority he has to do that.
He oversees that court. It is literally part of his job.
Not meaning to be a jerk to you, but is it part of his job to interfere with what that "court" does?
Yes, it is. Each SCOTUS Justice is responsible for at least 1 of 13 circuit courts of appeals. Roberts has DC, Federal, and the 4th Circuit. It isn't interfering either - it is their job. They will decide on issues exactly like this emergency stay, or stays of execution, injunctions, or anything before that court that can be decided by a single judge. Wikipedia has a good blurb on Justices as circuit justices. Anything more in-depth you can search for.
By the way - this isn't anything new. This situation has been posted in here before, and recently. I don't recall off the top of my head what the issue was (something dealing with Trump and the raid I believe) but the consensus was that it would be ok because Justice Thomas is responsible for the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals (part of which is the Southern District of FL).
