Interesting take on it - and now all the libtard outrage starts to make more sense. Instead of a blue check being a priceless libtard "badge of honor" it becomes more of a useless, meaningless mark of shame... The whole concept of which is brilliant.
Now, tie it in with bots. Wouldn't it be nice if the ability to post to twatter required a subscription (people would still be able to read posts for free). Weeding out all the bot accounts is not easy - and there are reports that EM wants to make twatter profitable via advertising.
Wouldn't a subscription cost basically put most of the bot farms out of business? Also wondering how the new improved twatter fits in with TS... not really sure how that works. Always good to have competition, if nothing else.
Why would a subscription fee remove bots? Bots are already costing money to implement and operate. You think Liberal special interests like George Soros are going to close up shop because of a subscription fee?
Look at any MMO that costs a monthly subscription, there are bots everywhere advertising their things. Subscriptions don't dissuade bot activity.
Relating a subscription based MMO will go over a lot of heads, but you're right. Bots will do the job they're tasked, and then by the time one account is banned, five more has been made.
Also, this tends to be done via fraud, and the fees are possibly small enough that some elderly may not even notice it.
Then they started removing check marks from already verified accounts because they didn't like their posts. They also started refusing to verify the "wrong" type of people. Effectively making it a 'twitter approved' status badge
I believe this is step one to Elon doing away with the check mark entirely. They will complain so much that his solution will be to get rid of it, thus evening the playing field…which will make them feel less special.
Or it might force us all to verify who we are, which would be the end of social media.
Yes absolutely on point. the checkmarks were never about verifying identity, it was about creating a priest class to police communication and warp/distort cultural zeitgeist through manufactured dialogue masquerading as organic.
the 8 dollars now confirms a low value to being part of the priest class, making it no longer a priest class despite still serving the exoteric objective of verifying a real person
It seems to me the general default for women that any sort of anything that causes them to have their perceived status diminished amongst their "friends" (who they hate) is a big focus for them.
Help me out here. What’s the significance of putting coats at the end of the hall in terms of shame? I get that it’s a “Scarlet letter” from the story, but I don’t see how it is.

My botting activity used to pay for my monthly wow subscription so there’s that.
Bot farms are about controlling the information, some may be based on profiting though.
I'm still hoping Musk somehow merges TS with Shitter - or sells it to DWAC for one dollar. KEK
I thought the blue checkmarks were originally just supposed to signify that 'yes, this really is that person'.
They were until they made them a political weapon.
Just like everything else that has been politicized
That was the original purpose.
Then they started removing check marks from already verified accounts because they didn't like their posts. They also started refusing to verify the "wrong" type of people. Effectively making it a 'twitter approved' status badge
That’s what I thought, id verified
Cheap enough for as many people as possible.
Expensive enough to prevent farms of thousands of bots.

Brilliant analysis.
Buried lead: SF nursery spruns an undervalued new source of revenue opting to shame children instead ?

The Wokes are really hard up for something to worry about. Maybe they should worry about getting arrested after the election.

What a brilliant way to turn the tables on the "money changers!"
Maybe Starlink subscribers should get a few Tblue accounts for free.
All Elon wants to do is add value to the site.
Nailed it.
I just signed up for it. Only $5
Is it impossible that this is all about profit and optics for the Satanic Elon Musk?
