I think you're right. I tried to open a new account and couldn't bc my email was in use already.
When I got banned on one of my emails, I had to start a new account with my other email. I tried to limit the other email to just people I know, so I wasn't happy about using it to sign up for twitter. I tried to appeal my original ban, but received the same "we have reviewed your request but you violated the twitter terms of service..." message. Translation: we see that you frequently post right-wing comments, so we needed to find a slightly upsetting comment to claim you violated the twitter terms of service

The Trump poll was powerful bait! He just put an inner tube in a tank of water to find the leak! Now he will fix it. Elon Musk and his Twitter antics are impressive to watch! It is my favorite entertainment these days.

bot farms are hard to track down because they use vpns and onion routing, but combine the poll data with starlink internet traffic and you could probably find where they're operating from and actually do something about it
