I once had a guy write a 5 page typewritten single spaced letter about one multiple choice question he took issue with. After reading about a page you could tell he misread the question. I didn’t dare write back because his anal complaint scared me and I thought he might be dangerous.

Maybe a year before I sold my retail business a customer was bullying my staff. One of my staff came and got me from the back. When I realized what was happening I not only told him he was a bully and wasn't getting what he asked for I mocked him until he turned to leave then I mocked him right out the door.
Bonus notes: This was during one of the flu "outbreaks" and he was trying to bully my staff to "sterilize" his phone with a product we sell after he asked us to look at it to fix a problem. He was scared we had germs. Covid is not the first time for stupidity.
I think entitlement plays an important role with customers. They feel like the policies should not apply to them for whatever reason. I don't bend for the crazies and they usually end up reporting me to the BBB or a doing friendly fraud chargeback.

I would have responded with a 5-page long multiple choice question as to what he thought would be the best way to solve the perceived problem.

Correct! Sick people like this are always looking for confrontation. Hubby tells me this is nature's way of telling you to avoid them.
