Nuts!!watch! CTV news actually put that ridiculous study linking unvaccinated to more traffic accidents on the news. The guy who did the study is featured, at the end he wonders if insurance companies should give 5% discounts for drivers with proof of vax. I can’t believe this is real life (twitter.com) 📺 Pfizer TV! 📺

This is so stupid. Best comedy in a long time. Sad though, as people believe this crap.

The insurance companies will do what’s best for them (no discount, maybe a discount for unvaccinated given data I’ve seen). If there’s anyone who understands risks, it’s insurance companies.

The data they used was about as retarded as the stat the 30% of accidents are alcohol related therefore it's safer to drive drunk.

Exactly. So let's see the life insurance folks start increasing premiums for the vaxxed, due to the generous amounts of data proving a 40% increase in death by all causes across the board. (See Died Suddenly)

There will be no increasing of premiums for the vaxxed. One day, out of the blue, they will find out that they have no life or medical coverage whatsoever because they voided their policy by taking an experimental medication.

Maybe. I think Twitter had alternative funding sources.

My experience with insurance companies (from a professional perspective) is that they’re on top of understanding risk - and also ruthless about fine tuning their policies for their profit.

Getting the odds right is crucial to the business model of an insurance company. Consequently, they will not believe TV news items even if the interviewee claims to be a scientist.

No, they have their own data and their own acturaies who do all the necessary calculations. For example, insurance companies know that there are excess deaths at the moment in spite of the vaccine being "100% safe and effective!"

Now I can't wait for the studies comparing the accident rates of different ethnicities. That ought to make for interesting insurance premium structures.

I just read that the "study" is based off early '21 data. At that time the shots had just been rolled out and only the elderly had received them. People under 40 were barely vax'd at that time, and that's who has the majority of car crashes.

Fake science yet again.

How would "having Covid", the Flu or the sniffles cause one to wreck their car more?

These people are completely delusional to even suggest such nonsense.

However, getting a blood clot from their vaxx and dying "suddenly & unexpectedly" most assuredly will cause more car wrecks.

It's the equivalent of their Russia, Russia, Russia hoax. The EXACT OPPOSITE IS THE TRUTH.

Wasn't the whole contention in the study that the unvaxxed were more likely to cause accidents because their willingness to break one "social rule" (getting the vaxx) meant they were more likely to break other social rules, in this case traffic laws? Pretty sure I saw that quote yesterday.

And I agree with others here - the insurance companies have the real data. If they can see that it's the vaxxed who are having accidents, how would it be to their benefit to have even more vaxxed drivers on the road? More claims, more BS, more work.

I mean Asian women are the worst drivers, shouldn't we just charge them 25% more regardless of their driving habits?

What about Black Drivers getting in more accidents than white people, should we let white people get 5% discount for proof of whiteness?

Truck drivers get in less accidents than most people, should we just give all truckers a 30% discount for proof of CDL?

I mean if we are doing blanket groupings of people we could do this all day

This is stupid, each person who drives pays depending on their driving habits regardless of all other factors, this is just silly and this is truly clownworld in my opinion.

So this "doctor" spewed out of a bunch a nonsense numbers about drivers who had "covid" who were in car accidents. Even if this were true..which it isn't.. How does this have ANYTHING to do with vaxxed or unvaxxed?

Since the drug pushers already admitted their vaxxes do absolutely nothing to prevent one from getting covid....this clown is falsely asserting the vaxx would prevent covid and therefore prevent the car accidents.

Complete Clown-Show.

Once again, this shows the difference between Science and Engineering.

Science = a masturbatory academic act that brings almost zero value to society.

Engineering = the actual skill that brings all modern technologies and inventions into the world.

Notice how it’s never engineers on the TV screen yabbering their nonsense?

That’s because engineers are out building and accomplishing things in the real world. And an engineer cannot prop himself up on bullshit the way a scientists can because if an engineer indulges in bullshit, bridges collapse, planes fall out of the sky, buildings crumble, the plumbing stops, the power goes out, or the communication infrastructure breaks down. There are actual real-world consequences to bullshit in the world of engineering. But in the world of science, bullshit gets your face on TV and money in your wallet.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– sun_wolf 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

So the scientists keep saying but is it true? What engineer used the “science” of locking beagles in cages to have flies eat off their face? What bridge did that study help build? Or what about the study about why fat chicks can’t laid. How did that help engineers build the power grid? What about the studies where “muh scientists” feed cocaine to different animals to see how they react? I’m sure that one was super helpful when engineers were designing the iPhone.

Face it dude, we’ve been duped by academic assholes in white lab coats. It was engineers the whole time building this shit and wormy little scientists swooping in to take all the credit.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– HairyWBush 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

This not entirely true. The core of a mechanical engineer's blueprint is the material; the material makeup is completely scientific. Who conducts all of the additives for automotive? Who tests the additives and oils for effectiveness? Who tests our water? Who laid out the standards for our drinking water? Let's not squash it entirely.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– sun_wolf 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

The scientific method is still valid, but as an annointed group of social authorities, “scientist” is a magic spell word without meaning. Like I say, when do you ever see an engineer on FAKE NEWS talking a bunch of bullshit and promoting hysteria? But there have been thousands of “scientists” who do that. When do you ever hear, “Trust the Engineering”? But you hear, “Trust the Science” all the time. What Science? And by who? That doesn’t matter. Just trust “the Science”.

To me, “engineer” is to “scientist” like “reporter” is to “journalist”. We know what an “engineer” does - he invents and builds - but what does a “scientist” do? Just vague, abstract science things. And we know what a “reporter” does - he researches and reports current events - but what does a “journalist” do? He... journals? Think about how that word “journalist” gave reporters permission to become activist opinion bloggers. In their eyes, that’s what a “journalist” should do. “Journal” their personal feelings about current events.

▲ 1 ▼
– HairyWBush 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

I'm not entirely disagreeing with you; what you wrote here is valid. I agree our educational studies and practices are tainted with malevolence and communist tactics. I just think it was too much of a blanket statement you made and that some science still has its' place.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– sun_wolf 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

Fair enough. I am intentionally being extra harsh on scientists to break the magic spell of their unquestionable authority. This would not be necessary if they did not weaponize the word “Science”. If they want to do that, then I am going to work to destroy the credibility and authority of that word. Obviously the scientific method, when practiced in good faith, continues to be valid. But I am not going to let them turn a method into an “ist” either. “Science” is too vague. If we make them specify and say things like, “Trust the chemistry” or “Trust the biology”, then the magic spell already starts to splinter and sound ridiculous. My comments are not directed at people who are genuinely working the scientific method to achieve practical results. If anything, those people should start identifying with their specific scientific discipline and not this nebulous definition of The Science. True chemists and biologists and physicists should also be equally against the fraudster academics and their bullshit corporate-funded studies and experiments. If you are doing legit work, and another dude who watches beagles get their face eaten off by flies claims he and you are the same, you should reject that too.

The study, as most would suspect is really really flawed and designed to be misleading.

Here is a twitter thread that talks about that. There might be otherws:

https://twitter.com/ClareCraigPath/status/1602650802186772481?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1602650802186772481%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=

One highlight:

These claims are based on accidents which resulted in hospitalisation. Each person injured is referred to in the paper as a "crash" - even when the injured person was a pedestrian!

I assume it also includes passengers. And this study didn't parse any of this out even though it was probably possible. It looks like the authors were paid for a conclusion and worked their way back.

They also have to use the government's estimate for % of population vaccinated to determine how the accident breakdown compares to the general population. That number is far from reliable. I know of people who got fraudulent vaccine certificates to be able to go on with their lives. Those people are almost certainly counted as vaccinated by the government even if they are not. That's not to mention the government manipulating the vaccinated numbers for their own benefit, which I have seen them do with other data.

Oh man, where to start?????

I mean, the doc looks like he's barely home, plus he's wearing a FANNY PACK.

Okay, granted those are throwaway points...

But his main point, from what I gathered, is that vaccine HESITANCY is what presumably causes the problem. As in, one's attitude towards getting the vax somehow is indicative of their attitude to the rules of the road.

So his solution then is to increase compliance with the vax?

How is getting the vax going to change their attitude towards the rules of the road?

Of course, his whole thing is deeply flawed as another post points out, the data was cherry picked.

He wants car insurance premiums to go down if you're vaxxed........

I'm thinking LIFE INSURANCE premiums should be going UP if you're vaxxed, due to your massively increased chance of sudden death or death by any cause. In fact, this is something I've been waiting for because life insurance guys aren't dumb, they've been noticing this for some time now - it's only a matter of time before it trickles down into their actual policies.

Unlike his pathetic fanny packed point, the life insurance point is heavily backed up by tons of data.
