he admitted that the legally required chain of custody was not followed at any point in this last election.

How can an election be certified if there is no chain of custody?
"I don't know what anything you just said means, so stop denying the election! An election happened! CNN said so! And questioning that it did is Russian disinformation! Now stop being a nazi and put on your mask, or we'll send you to mandatory reeducation."
KEK!
„And you‘ve hurt my feelings.“
I worked the polls in 2020 here in NC. We had no chain of custody either... at least nothing I ever signed off on after the election and I was a Republican Judge (not the chief judge).
I believe our County decided they had to add this to their election regiment after the 2020 election either that or our state legislature required it of them for the future.
We had a sheet to sign off on of chain of custody for both our primaries and our general election this year.
Cause it was Hobbs that Certified it....
Illegally.
they all will get the wall in the end
I'm a noose man myself
Rope is reusable

This is a much more positive take than the one I had after watching the last couple hours. The prosecution team is not good.
I counted half a dozen times they re-asked the exact same question that was already answered, during cross or by their own team -- and not even questions that could somehow prove perjury with some unknown evidence.
I'm not overly hopeful, but time will tell.
They just admitted that they failed to follow chain of custody in court. Door is open to throw out the election for it simply not being run properly. Also opens Hobbs up since she was in charge
Also, the statement from the forensic investigator is pretty damning. Hearing is definitely picking up for Lake.
Thankfully they have the evidence on their side, because the legal acumen of the representation certainly wasn't enough to win this case.
I would think for such a prominent and historic trial they would have pulled out the really big legal guns. Weird!
After watching that cross, I cannot believe how TERRIBLE Lake's lawyers are.
Leading questions, hostile questions, so many reasons to object to easily half of the questions asked, and they just sat around twiddling their thumbs.
They had better have a LOT more hard evidence, because the legal team might as well not be present.
The problem is that the really big conservative legal guns wont touch anything election related. Cowardice is a huge problem for our side.
that could also be due to a law that prevents republicans from questioning the outcome of elections
Well, it's certainly not unreasonable. Risking your entire career and livelihood needed to support a family, or just repay loans needed to get a law degree is not an easy choice to make.
I guess I'm glad someone is willing to do it, but worried they may greatly hurt the case either from ignorance or malice.
Her attorneys suck. They may prevail however if the judge isn't paid for.
The evidence seems to speak for itself, thankfully. Hopefully that will be enough.
I don't know what online law school these guys got their degrees from, or how they passed the bar, but thank God that judge is going easy on them and is actually interested in the merits of the case.
Why does 'our side' always have such loser laywers? Remember the trump impeachment laywer dude lol I was just shaking my head, and samehow he pulled it off. But wow... It's almost like they want to purposely throw it. Maybe they are just nervous or something but dang aren't they professionals? How about you lawyer like a professional?
Yeah, it does seem to be a trend. Most probably view it as career killers, so all that's left are the lawyers with little to lose (which usually means they're starting from the bottom).
Fortunately the conservatives in these cases almost always have mountains of evidence in their favor, so doesn't require a whole lot of 'lawyering'.
Still, they sound very unsure of what they are doing. It's disturbing that they sound quite unprofessional.
Yes, they have proven vital keys to the case, but they sound so unprofessional it just doesn't sound convincing, you know?
Keep in mind the VERY SHORT prep time after the Judge's ruling. Cut them a break, they ARE winning right?
