I actually liked it--it had to focus on his life as Clark Kent, thus resulting in more character-driven moments without compromising who Superman is.
In one episode, Lois somehow gets his powers, and he has to help her learn to accept that she cannot possibly save absolutely everyone.
We need to learn that too.
