Did you go to school in the 70's?

I would add, how many were grossly overweight?
we had fatties, gays, retards, and weirdos who cross dressed.
Not as many, but they were there
Now that literally everything is socially acceptable, there is no social construct asking people to please try their best to achieve personal greatness.
I get it, current year belief is that none of those are personal choices. I don't really care, being a conservative doesn't feel like a personal choice either and they have no issue judging me and acting on it, so turnabout is fair.
Its just "whatever you are is all you are"
Yeah, I graduated high school in the late 90s, and I remember we had a few kids in all those categories, just not nearly as many as today. And as you said, being fat or gay or transgendered was considered abnormal and shameful, especially where I grew up in the Southeast.
Now, almost every person I see is fat, and only the seriously obese are looked at as strange. Trannies are everywhere and no one even notices it anymore. A lot of kids think it's cool to be trans or "nonbinary," like the way it used to be cool and different to be goth in 1996. The "be yourself/love yourself" mentality that came along in the 60s and 70s is what led to where we are today. Whatever feels good, do that.
Many high schools have dedicated trans clubs that offer safe spaces.
My youngest told me that his Middle School started one also.
Romans 1:26-27.
St. Paul seems to imply that the widespread acceptance and practice of sodomy (and I guess that includes trannys) is itself the manifestation of God's wrath and is itself the punishment being inflicted by Him. We're being punished by a plague of faggots for our sins (i.e. fornication, abortion, divorce, atheism)

Thank you! - My wife and I have been saying this for years. There is no reinforcement to help folks "stive for personal greatness"! Being a personal of high moral standing and goodness is what we all should be doing.
Everyone one is waiting for the storm. Its here. We're in it.
Worse than 1984/Brave New World / They Live
So very true it is.
most people have to believe that what they're doing is the right thing, and most people do. that's why idiots are up in arms about global warming, and taking freedom of expression to an extreme. you can't virtue signal if you don't believe on some level that you have virtue.
people with discernment can't be lied to forever... but many just treat the loudest voice like an infallible ancient text... without questioning their motivation for being so loud.
We had one dude, I think his name was David, in the early 80s. He was an awkward white kid that hung out with all the Asians that wore combat boots for some reason. I think it was between my junior and senior year that I was coming out of the grocery store and saw his picture on the front page of the paper. He'd lured a mail lady into his house and killed her. I believe he actually got out of prison a year or so ago.
How horrifying 😢
Right? And a friend of mine was downtown in the courthouse (we all had to watch a trial of some sort downtown as incoming seniors for gov't class) and had to ride an elevator with him. He looks the same as he did in high school.

How awful and incredibly sad for her family.
I graduated in 79. Country school w/ 170 in graduating class. We had 1 guy & 2 girls in our class that we considered "fat". I know this because my wife and I had this discussion long ago and pulled out my year book. Trust me, my memory isn't that good. We had some big boned guys and even farm girls. But very, very few "fat" across the whole school of 7-12.
1977 with 500 in my class, and yes we had a handful that were heavy/overweight but nothing like the morbidly obese of today. We also had some awkward kids who today would be on the Aspergers end of ASD, but just a few, not like half the kids. I guess it was the great, classic rock music that helped us thrive and survive.
I graduated ‘79 also. I was as skinny as a rail my entire life. Could eat an entire bag of Oreo cookies and not gain a pound. We had over 500 in our class and I only remember a handful(if that) were fat.
Fast forward to 10 years ago and had major weight issues with lots of health issues and so much pain it was difficult to get out of bed most days but I did. Lots of tests with no MD resolutions. Just told to eat better and I worked with a nutritionist for a year who told me I was cheating on my food log. (She obviously didn’t believe how meticulous I was at logging).
2 years ago I found a functional Dr who tested lots of things and after a 6 month extremely strict diet then adding back in foods slowly to record reactions I can no longer eat grain (including rice), dairy or soy. It’s more than gluten it’s all grains including gluten free grains. Now I eat meat, veg, fruits, nuts/seeds and desserts I make with selected ingredients. (A lot of coconut & monk fruit)
I lost 30 pounds over the last year (still have another 20-25 I want to drop), take zero medications, I have zero body pain anywhere and so much more energy.
After 50 years of eating the same foods all of a sudden it was destroying my body (it almost happened overnight it was so fast). Something changed with the food supply. Sure hormone changes could be part of it but I strongly believe all the GMO and other crap food that sells for less money than healthy food is destroying our bodies.
It was hard at first, man I missed cheese, but the mere fact I have ZERO body aches or pain anymore is more than enough motivation for me to continue to eat healthy and dump the crap and I no longer miss any prior foods. My tastebuds also changed and I enjoy [healthy] foods I previously didn’t like or eat (like cranberries, avocados, blueberries, black berries, etc). The more crap you eat the more the cravings for crap food you have and dislikes of healthy foods. It’s designed that way to make us all sick.
I graduated in 79 too! Similar ratio of fat students at my high school.

How many had funky skin conditions, like psoriasis?
I only knew one guy. Where do you think that came from?
Vaccines
1 kid
I had a skin condition around 1977. It came from getting scabies. It’s a type of hives because of too much histamine in blood stream. Nickname, write on yourself. I never knew anyone else with skin conditions.
