This was a real popular conversation in the 80s. She never shied away from it.
Her parents had to make a choice when she was born. She was born with both male and female sex organs, a Hermaphrodite.
My understanding is that her parents waited until she was all older and the more pronounced organs/hormones were used to determine her gender and the male organs were removed.
At the time her parents had enough money to ensure she had the best medical care for her condition.
She’s never been able to have children,.. was married, adopted kids, and has lived a fairly normal life with this condition.

This is what I’ve always heard, but unfortunately that’s not entirely true. I’m not sure if the hermaphrodite rumor is true or not, but I do know that she has walked off a few interviews because the host asked.

I think the more people inquired —the less inclined she was to talk about it.
If I remember from her mother or father, someone said that it was a very tough decision.
What ever happened as a child/infant she’s OK with who she is. That much she said in almost every interview.
I must say that I have compassion for people born with this condition. IMO, it is the only acceptable category (I) out of the LGBTIQ acronym and should not be included as it is a physical reality, unlike the others.

Yea I’ve seen True Lies many times, I mean yea in ‘93-94 she could pull off the dude look, but in the early 80’s when Trading Places came out. Her nude scene doesn’t seem to be cgi, or hormoned at all. I don’t know. I just find it hard to believe with Curtis. I’d be shocked if I was wrong.

To be fair, I remember reading a thread on here claiming Serena Williams was actually a man (most likely true) and proving it by explaining the differences between male and female bodies and how to determine if an identifying woman was actually a real woman. Females waist curve is above the belly button, where as, males have the curve under the belly button.
As manish as Jamie Lee Curtis looks, if you look at pictures of when she was younger in bathing suits or underwear, she does have her curve above her belly button or maybe it's just posing, so idk. But damn, looking at recent pictures she looks like she's aging like a man would 😕
