How the fuck do these people find classified materials in people’s homes? If you’re a high level politician, are you forced to have pee ant document finders searching your home all hours of the day? I’m smart enough to know that this is all bullshit and this is Joe’s easy way out, but can anyone explain to the general public why Joe’s “lawyers” are in his garage and other places?

Let me try to translate into decent people concepts.
The docs were stolen. Some to protect themselves because they contained info that would get them hanged if the "wrong" people read them. Others for sale to the highest bidder. And some because their masters demanded it of them.

But why keep documents that would get you in trouble? If you can steal them why not just burn them instead of keeping them? It's like hiding the murder weapon in your garage.
Until very recently, no one challenged them on anything. They owned the courts and federal law enforcement. They owned the msm.

And yes, they can be stolen. Someone was giving Hillary documents and data that was only available to those with "need to know" clearance above Top Secret, compartmentalized, for her to sell.

The truth is, no one ever bothered with people taking classified documents, because a lot of times thats how you peddle your "classification" to the private sector you go after government.
When they raided Trump for classified documents, they set themselves a whole new precedant. This is what Trump said about his raid coming back to bite Biden. You will probably see a whole lot of these now.
Not only that, but they're voluntarily notifying the National Archives and DOJ/FBI that they've found classified material. These people and their lawyers are professional liars, wouldn't they just destroy the documents and never bring it up, especially after the big deal made about Trump's documents? That tells me something else is going on, like a white hat op.
Lawyers were most likely sent to make it seem like him having them was not a big deal. And to let them root through what they brought back. And to make copies.

Biden isn’t Biden and we are watching a movie. Everything is scripted and acted.
It's hard, even for us anons to hold it in our heads that Biden is an actor because it produces great cognitive dissonance.

Profit and/or protection.
Profiting isn’t necessarily nefarious as u/bubble_bursts points out.
Protection can be to protect themselves from being outed for something they did. Or, it could be documents that contain dirt on people you believe might try to take you out. Kind of like mutually assured destruction.
I believe I heard somewhere that there is an active investigation going on with Hunter. As he and the big guy have shared residences, these documents found were probably given to hunter while Joe was VP for "business dealings" with China, Ukraine, etc. And found during that investigation.
Joe says those are mine not hunters, I'm the president so it's ok.
Then realizing that they were taken when he was VP and not ok, they then have Pence find some docs and now it's, look all VPs do it so no big deal.
Let's say you brought classified material out of your office. Then promptly handed it off to your Chinese puppet master.
Later, when the white hats come along and "find" it all in your garage. What are you gonna say?
Was wondering the same thing. I had read that the DOJ was involved in the 2nd document being found. They may have requested Biden to check if he had any others lying around after the ones in the locked closet at the PennXidenCenter were found.
Maybe they gave up info and other people and are being offered an easier way out.
