There's an easy way to defeat this -- don't shop there and take your business elsewhere. Now's the time to nip this in the bud.

Amazon are so big they can just buy so many retail outlets that the options to go elsewhere is reduced so much and there'll eventually only be these stores; or other big stores will copy their model to compete for "convenience" and we'll only have these shops to choose from regardless!

This is going to require anti-trust lawsuits, and ultimately the breakup of Amazon into many smaller pieces. Same for Google, Microsoft, etc.

They'll find ways to defeat it for a little while. But eventually, the system will become harder/impossible to defeat. Then, one scenario would be that the dindunuffins will have to either accept defeat and live on the guberment dole that will be offered to them in return for their obedience/complicity or steal from anyone and everyone who obeyed/complied with the system until such time as the AI drone/robot police dogs take them out.

They were installed precisely for that reason: to stop diversity from jumping over turnstiles.

Federal Reserve all get woodchiped. Go back to gold standard. But my mood today is more Mad Max than positive. I'm all in favor of not having to wait in line for a stranger with unknown personal hygiene habits to silently judge my purchases while spreading germs from every other person whose purchases they have touched since they last washed their hands. Yeah, I get it stockers and other shoppers can touch things I am picking up, but cutting one body out of the chain helps.

As far as the cash thing, I'm cheap, so if I can save 3% or 5% using Amazon's credit card I'm definitely doing that. If you're someone who has different values, I don't see why you couldn't buy an Amazon gift card for cash at a different store and load it onto your account.

▲ 2 ▼

And opps, you:

  • forgot to leave your phone at home
  • didn't cover your face enough
  • left some DNA evidence
  • appeared on every CCTV camera between the store and your destination

And any one of those lead the Police to you and they charge you not with shoplifting, but with the much worse crime of evading social credit and purchase controls and you're sent to the thermal de-polymerization plant to be recycled into oil and trace minerals to offset your carbon sins. You must understand when this reaches its logical conclusion they will crack down on your for failing to obey.

What? What do you think fascism is?

Amazon is a behemoth company that disrupted a lot of traditional retail by offering a superior experience to consumers and this storefront is just more of the same. A supermarket where I don't have to interact with clerks or wait in line or scan my groceries? Sounds great to me. If you don't like it, ain't nobody forcing you to shop there. What's fascist about that?

some uses RFID scanner to steal your amazon ID, walks in and fills their pockets, backpack, etc. (these don't necessarily only steal RFID chip signals, but radio frequency scanners like this have been used to clone remote vehicle entry and mimic the radio frequency signals sent by cell phone apps)

permalink save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– OffGridGuy 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

There are some nice cryptographic protection mechanisms. I'd worry way more about thugs stealing your phone from you than stealing your signals.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– morum 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

oh I'm not worrying, I'm just sharing information.

but what do you mean by cryptographic protection mechanisms? so if someone literally records the radio activity given off by your phone which the machine reads.. you're saying by some sort of black box magic that the machine reading the signal will know the difference between your phone broadcasting the same exact signal as another device doing so? And the threat of the signal being stolen and spoofed for use is more of a threat because you are not immediately aware of it.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– OffGridGuy 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

I mean your device/card isn't just broadcasting your account number and that anyone that records it can rebroadcast it to buy anything they want anywhere. What your device is broadcasting is a unique, encrypted, token generated specifically for that transaction. Capturing and replaying it will accomplish nothing.

You'd have a lot more work to use that data for fraud purposes.

This video is kind of stupid. You can easily walk past those bars, I’m going to take whatever you want as long as you don’t have your phone with you. The sliding glass doors open automatically without your phone, you don’t wave your phone until you get into the store. A store like this in a blue city, would never make it.

Now… With all that being said, yes, this is creepy, yes, Amazon sucks, and yes, people are being brainwashed into thinking this is all going to be normal one day. The upside! You don’t have to deal with the Circle K cashier

As a purchaser of real Sudafed to deal with cold congestion I can assure you the Government doesn't not need a cashless society to exert control over what you purchase. If I have to have all merchants online so the database can check if you've exceeded your non-insect protein allocation for the week, does it really matter if you are identified by your State issued ID or by your cashless payment method?

The cashless part just makes it harder for you to exchange money with other citizens, it doesn't fundamentally change your experience with the merchant who will be required to enforce purchase limits and other policies. The funds check is separate from the "will we allow you to buy that" check.

I find it hilarious that this supremely high tech leaves retarded humans in it's wake, yet as time goes on, the people who built it will die. And when it comes time to fix it, all that will be left is a bunch of retards created by the ones who made the tech who are now dead or gone.

There is an insane push in the field of automation and electronics right now. But it is a difficult field. Very difficult. And the more tech progresses, the more dumb humans get...

So I am very anxious to see how the younger generations will adapt.

Circles that are Vicious!!!

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– TurdFergueson2 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

Humans are inherently flawed by sin.

We literally cannot create perfection, which computers demand to operate solidly.

Errors occur that need human intervention. And no matter how well we create an AI, even if we use the most perfect model that we can devise, and use that model to create more AI neural networks, which is already being done. The AI will train and enhance the unforseen flaws that humans input into it. AI will forever be corrupted because humans are the ones who invented it. And we as humans, are inherently flawed. On purpose.

AI will get very good, don't get me wrong. It will destroy many jobs. But in the end of it, it will die off like a bad disease. Because it will consume itself, by killing its host.

We humans are built in the image of perfection, the image. A reflection in the mirror.

But we are not perfection. Just made in the likeness of.

We are created by a creator and thus will create in the image of ourselves. But it will forever be a tragedy. In my opinion.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– OffGridGuy 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

You don't need perfection to result in a much better world. And computers are blissfully free of the sort of weaknesses of the flesh that the deceiver uses to corrupt men. They don't have jealousy, envy, chemical addiction, or laziness or so many other things that can lead you astray.

I think one of the great capacities of man is for self-reflection. How many times growing up did you see your parents act in a way that made you say, "I never want to be like that with my kids". And I'm sure at some point you did exactly the same thing they did out of frustration or tiredness or whatever their reason for it. But if you were making something you would have made it to avoid that.

And software gives you the ability to do that .

How easy would it be to quit drinking or cheating on your wife if you had no physical desires and feedback from those actions?
