They are "victims of brutal and inhumane treatment." If you've read the details of their incarceration, you can't call it anything else than brutal and inhumane.

The strategy of mass-arresting gang members and incarcerating them is by all reports doing a great job of saving El Salvador from rampant gang violence and murder. I'm all for that.
But the conditions under which the prisoners are being kept are cruel almost beyond belief. Yes, the gangs themselves are cruel beyond belief, but they could be just as securely detained under conditions that wouldn't cause international outrage (which is coming, if the situation is as described) and cause violence and disease among the prison population, which are ALSO coming.
Prison for these types should not be comfortable or dignified, it should be cruel, and having no comfy mattress is not cruel, many people in many countries do not have mattresses. So what if 20 people have to be out of a bed at once, they can sleep in shifts, fuck these people.
These people cause violence and death and you are worried about them being violent and diseased? why? I hope they all kill each other and die of dysentery.
Compassion for these people needs to end, it's a large part of the continued behavior. Kids won't be drawn to the lifestyle if the risk is fighting for a hard bed to sleep on. This prison style needs to be adopted everywhere for these types of criminals. Fuck funding the extras for these degens. Animals like this don't deserve humane treatment at all.

Pretty sure there is no such thing as inhumane treatment of organized crime members. Opting out of gangs is easy enough, don't join one. When the WEF wants you to come and be a new young leader, all you have to do is say, No. As far as inhumane treatment, I am pretty sure that 20% having to "hot rack" is not inhumane treatment. Our submariners have been doing it for nearly 60 years, some old Navy ships had this back in the day. Soldiers and marines had smaller tents and bivy sacks than what these guys do. When your recruiting process requires rape and murder, I pretty much consider them all deserving of incarceration.

I'm actually surprised that they weren't all taken on a camping trip in the jungle and "lost". Bravo to the El Salvadorians for their mercy and largesse.
Now they just need to set the mega prison on fire. And El Salvador will be a wonderful place, no longer captive of criminals.
