Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment

Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I’m pet sitting today, and these people have a pinball machine in their home. It’s awesome.
NO FEAR - NASCAR - theme!
It’s pretty fun. That is all.
Oh I love pinball. I’m not very good at it. I just love the noise it makes. You think you’re doing something even if you’re not. Enjoy the free pinball.
Yeah, I love it. I used to play all the time when I was a kid, and I’m halfway decent. It’s just something fun to do. And it is free, you can’t beat that. Best news yet, I was just told there’s lots of food in the freezer in the garage, to help myself… I just had for spring rolls. 🤣😆🤣😆
Ah good for you! I love spring rolls. They are better than egg rolls I think. Sounds like you got a good gig going on. Free pinball and spring rolls, life is definitely good. 😆🤣

Question out of curiosity:
How hard will it be to start a regional television or radio station?
I do recall an article that George Soros and other globalists are buying up independent Latino radio stations in Florida because their programming is causing the Latinos to turn against their Demonic Rat candidates en masse in time for the mid-term elections. If even independent regional radio stations have the globalists scared, think of the panic if the MAGA movement started up their own regional radio or television stations...
Update from behind the enemy lines of New England.
I've mentioned some strange deaths in my circle of family, friends and acquaintances before so here is an update:
🟢 Two coworkers of my SIL had their husbands die last summer. She got the shots to maintain employment and now her thyroid has been acting up beyond the medication's ability to regulate it.
🟢 My wife has now had several relatives of her coworkers pass away. One teachers husband (60's) while on vacation, another person's brother (50's) and a close coworker lost both her Uncle and Cousin in a span of 5 days.
🟢 A contractor we use lost his brother last fall. The guy just drove off the road into the trees in the middle of the day and was killed.
🟢 My son just broke up with his girlfriend after being together for a year. One of the reasons he listed was because she got the second moderna injection since her Dr recommended it. His coach just lost his mother also (70's).
The volume of deaths certainly seems higher than normal.
In good news, fewer normies are wearing muzzles. One Dr office dropped their mask policy, the local veterinarian office doesn't make their staff wear them, but the Dr's still comply, and the kids orthodontist also dropped their muzzle requests.
Wow. That’s awful.
The VAMC here in Tampa FL still requires masks but that’s the only place I’ve encountered it in a long time.
OK, so I’m not doing the keto, but I am doing low-carb. What happens when you eat the sugar free chocolate? What brand? And what happened measurably?
That was the funniest video. That’s who I used to be. Before I decided to give my life back to Christ. Just angry all the time.
Close your eyes, and imagine… This is how everybody on PDW feels, all day, every day!
Now that’s funny!
I havent done full keto, just started doing IF with almost zero refined sugar and low carbs. I am curious to know how does it feel when you are knocked out of Keto, as in what symptoms do you feel etc? Can you also recognise that your body is in Keto?
As for artificial sweeteners, never trusted them, and will never touch them.
Check your carb count; sugar free does not equal low or no carbs.
It gives me intestinal distress. Never again.
A little update on my orphan lamb I got a couple of weeks ago. Theodore is going great guns. He's grown heaps ,he's drinking a whole bottle 5 times a day ,started nibbling grass and I've introduced some hard feed this morning which he cleaned up. He tears around the yard but makes me laugh as he hops like a deer sometimes. He bucks and plays but I'm sure he thinks he's a dog as the blue heeler adores him and plays with him. They are best mates. So from a half dead lamb when he came here he's not doing too badly at all.
What great news! No better play mate than a blue heeler. My heeler made it to 16 years old. He was my baby.
That’s just amazing. When I’m really feeling down, I watch baby goat or baby lamb videos. They are just so full of gods exuberance.!
Praise God!
His name is the best and I’m happy to hear it. I remember when you got him. That’s great news.
Here's some Australiana for all you frens out there who are not Anzacs (kiwis or aussies):
All aussies of my generation will know this song. Folk song from back before machine shears were used to cut the wool from sheep. FYI, the wool industry was essentially the core industry on which the australian nation was built. We had lots and lots of sheep, and australian wool was second to none quality wise - best in the world for a long time.

I wonder if any of our murican pedes recognize the melody?
I don't recognize the melody, but is it Waltzing Matilda? I notice they use that album cover in the "video".
Waltzing Matilda was my jam growing up. I had a pretty blessed childhood in regards to musical variety. 😃
Thanks for the choon.
Bro,
I found out that the tune/melody was pilfered from an American song from the mid 1800s....
Check this out. It's totally weird.

Talking about wool ,you would have loved the wool we were handling a couple of weekends ago FractilizingIron. The wool classer said it was the best he's seen in a very long time. 21 micron ,needed barely any skirting and only the very tips of it were discoloured. It was so soft. I'd love a jumper out of it .
Do you spin, Mel?
No I don't. I just help friends out on weekends and days off in the sheds if they're short a roustabout.
I was thinking about 'Click go the Shears' after helping friends in a shearing shed last weekend and started humming it to myself on the way home.
Honest question, since I can't find a straight answer:
Was David Icke being literal or figurative when he talked about "lizard people?"
The Left always took that term literally to make him look bad, yes. But I want to hear it straight from you guys.
Icke was right about a lot of things, but he's always struck me as at least a little crazy, like Ted the Unabomber without the murdering.
Icke and many others like him talk about "lizard people" literally.
Personally, I'm still on the fence about the literal part. 😉
Reminds me of a fish I had. It was a “pleco” fish. A sucker- type fish that the moron at the pet store recommended to keep the aquarium clean. It was about 1 1/2 inches when I got it and it grew to be 2’ feet long, required a new enormous tank, pissed so much it had to have the water exchanged every week.. it turned into a nightmare maintenance-wise but he was actually pretty nice. If you put your hand in there, he’d approach and sort of be friendly. Anyway, he got sold back to the same pet store LOL. I was bummed but we were moving so.. I hope someone bought him.
LOL me either at the time
How far do you think you could throw David Icke?
Inquiring minds want to know.
But yeah, I concur.
I consider there to be an important distinction between material reality and spiritual reality. Those who end up possessed by demonic forces, and/or who themselves descend into real spiritual depravity, will naturally end up looking like monsters in the spiritual dimension, at least to eyes that can see.
Those who don't fully grasp the difference or reality of the spiritual and the material may end up blurring the lines or confusing one with the other, which, I'm inclined to think is the origin of the 'lizard people' thing.
As with all great lies, there is a kernel of truth buried and then the lie factor is mixed with it. So the lizard thing I suspect reflects some truth about the spiritual reality of these people (meaning, they have become distorted, almost unhuman in their nature), but then is blown up in order to discredit and as you say, gatekeep folks from real truth.
Kin to serpent in garden!
slow cooked pork chops in the oven..the meat just falls apart like baby back ribs.
Chicken tenders wrapped in bacon and cooked. Jack cheese on top melted. Spinach salad. Yours sounds good sans chicken livers.
It’s simple. I need simple cooking, LOL. I found a recipe for Longhorn Parmesan crusted chicken. I can write it up if anyone is interested. It’s fantastic.
Copycat Longhorn Parmesan Crusted Chicken kinda keto modified Ingredients
4 (4- to 5- oz.) boneless, skinless chicken breasts-Rinsed and dried with paper towels
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper (more or less)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons ranch dressing (I make my own keto style ranch)
3 ounces Parmesan cheese, grated (about 6 Tbsp.) divided into two parts 4 provolone cheese slices
¼ cup panko breadcrumbs ** or sub crushed almonds
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (I used salted)
Chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley (I used dried)
*Preheat oven to low-broil. Sprinkle chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large (12-inch) nonstick skillet over medium-high (I used cast iron.) Cook chicken until well seared and cooked thru, approx 4 mins per side)
*If using cast iron, just remove from heat and set aside-you’ll be putting it directly in the oven in a minute. Use a freaking hot pad!!!! If using a non oven safe frying pan, transfer to a oven safe cookie sheet type pan that is lined with parchment or greased/cooking spray.
*Step 2 Stir together ranch dressing and 2 tablespoons of the Parmesan in a small bowl. Spread ranch mixture evenly over each chicken breast. Place 1 provolone slice over each breast.
*Step 3 Stir together panko or *crushed almonds, melted butter, and remaining 4 tablespoons Parmesan in a small bowl. Sprinkle mixture evenly over provolone on each breast. Broil until cheese is melted and panko/almonds is golden brown, about 2 minutes. Remove from oven, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
*I usually cook my chicken longer than recommended. I’m weird about it. You can check with a thermometer to make sure it’s cooked thru before moving to oven. Sometimes I butterfly two breasts instead of cooking 4. They cook a lot faster.
*I’ve had this with panko and it’s very, very close to the restaurant version. Maybe even better since they’re not always consistent. The almonds substitution is really good though. Sorry it formatted badly but I’m supposed to be working LOL
You’re very welcome!
"heat oil in a large nonstick skillet"
Puts a whole other spin on 'NobodyLikesSplatter' for me....
Hang on
Low carb Ranch dressing 1 cup Mayo 1/2 cup Sour cream 2 tsp Lemon juice 2 tsp Dried parsley 1 tsp Dried dill 1 tsp Dried chives 1/2 tsp Garlic powder 1/2 tsp Onion powder 1/2 tsp Sea salt 1/4 tsp Black pepper
This sounds excellent. I should be doing keto but…I like good food!
I don't cook anything "awesome", lol. My wife can, and does, but rarely keto (and never on purpose). Heck, we were both vegetarians for over 20 years until about maybe 8 months ago. I know, I know, huge mistake. I totally regret it.
I mainly made the comment to show my ignorance. Especially regarding the bacon. I find I have to cook all the bacon at once or it will go bad before I end up cooking the rest. Shameful, I know.
Never had liver, but I feel like despite it being something of a "ongoing joke meat" it would be good in this dish. Sounds yummy.
It sounds delish, except for the liver :)
Now imagine that..over a bowl of fresh, steamy properly cooked koshi hikari rice or in a big bowl of soba noodles
:)
To quote Queen, the group (Bohemian Rhapsody):
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
She's doing keto. It's a keto meal! Aka no (or absolute minimal) carbs. Putting that over any sort of rice (koshi hikari or otherwise) OR soba noodles (which generally include wheat, but at any rate are a carb-fest) is antithetical to the entire operation!!!!
Tempt not the Roofer with thy carbonstrous temptations!!! Rice or soba noodles? Indeed! How dare you!! How very dare you!!!

Kek, was Ax trolling?
If so, then that's some next level trolling. Woosh, right over my head, u/axrevolutionai
Womp, womp.
