“i’m ready to go back to jail” “i’ll hurt anyone on this train” “…the deceased man had a documented mental health history as well as a criminal history that includes more than 40 prior arrests. Authorities had an active warrant for his arrest from a felony assault”
If the police have arrived 5 minutes earlier this man would have been labeled as her.
He might not be a hero now but we don't need another George Floyd because Saint George had similar history too and the CIA used him to make a huge operation!
As a former Jarhead myself, I probably would have done the same thing. Maybe a little more judiciously by letting up on the chokehold after he'd passed out. But yeah, a belligerent person in a crowd of noncombatants is just wrong.
It’s easy to say “he should’ve done this, he should’ve done that, or I would’ve done this” when watching things like this… but as someone who IS law enforcement (prison SWAT) with decades of experience in combat sports, once you apply any choke hold and the person goes “out”, you NEED to release it. Those 30 seconds or so of them waking up and getting their bearings straight is enough time for you to immobilize and control them in a safe manner. Sadly, because of him not releasing the hold and because this happened in NEW YORK, he’s fucked.. AND unfortunately this will be another example why the “choke hold” is illegal for law enforcement use. Meanwhile anyone who trains, knows choking someone out is one of the safest/efficient ways of dealing with someone. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen people go out, wake up, and start cracking up in disbelief that they went out.
Fuck MSNBC, they're a pack of lying, America-hating hyenas.
That said, I didn't see where the dead guy was violently attacking anyone, just yelling. I'm wondering if choking him to death was really necessary. Marine could have used a submission hold that didn't involve death, maybe an elbow lock or the like?
The video at the end looks like it has someone talking to him- “Hey man, you were put in a chokehold, you’re just waking up. You’re gonna be alright but you gotta stay there.” or something to that effect.
The second thing is when you’re behind in a chokehold position like that you can’t actually see if someone is out or not, especially in a struggle. Having been on the mat a few times in both positions it’s just something that’s hard to tell. So the guy grabbing the arms should have been there to tap for him since the guy couldn’t tap (because his arms were restrained). Granted, you don’t really want a violent offender like this threatening people to pull a knife in a close quarters situation like that- it’s a good way to get made past-tense; knives are nasty.
Really, I doubt the guy was killed by the compression and the Coroner and DA are just out to get somebody- but with 42 arrests it’s no wonder this guy felt so comfortable threading people on the subway. That and he tried to throw multiple people on the tracks too, so this man has already attempted murder multiple times before but wasn’t locked up. DA Bragg should be prosecuting himself for allowing this man with mental illness to roam the subways as he had. But he won’t.
Was this Marine a combat veteran? If so, who is the real victim? I don't ever want to be forced back into combat mode. Put me in that situation & hell's coming with me. I don't think it's PTSD, really, just a history of adrenaline overdoses

No doubt the trans fad is totally out of control at this point

At least Gilderoy Lockhart finally made himself useful
This made me laugh way more than it really should have
Will this former marine run for office? I'll be on his campaign team.

That video is not a good look.
"JUST LET THE COLORED PEOPLE BULLY YOU! DONT STAND UP FOR ANYONE OR ANYTHING! HOW DARE YOU DEFEND YOURSELF AND OTHERS!" /s
Two lives were ended. No way he comes out of this.
Name checks out
Assault, threats of bodily violence are both attacks.
You do not have to wait until you are already being battered to stop someone who said he was going to kill you.
