Thanks for your comment and patience for my reply. I could write a book on this subject as I've been thinking about this and living amongst the sheep for a long time. Some people in my family and others that I know are brainwashed leftists. There are also plenty of closet patriots (more than you'd think) in the secular jewish community; it's just that we're so out-numbered by the proud activists on the left that we often dare not speak out in order to avoid the conflict, ridicule, bad-will or retribution. Three yrs ago when my synagogue (in a blue area) put up a BLM sign I came out of the closet (as did others) to revolt, and we won that battle at the time. But you asked WHY this all is... In my opinion it's a continuous perversion of secular hebrew "education". (The orthodox don't have this problem.) We're all so busy in life and when we try to squeeze into our lives a religious/ jewish/community /spiritual connection--- all reform congregations, many other-type congregations, jewish organizations, camps, youth groups... focus a lot on the idea of Jewish values (showing kindness, compassion, empathy, charity... ie. judeo-christian values... who's against that, right?) These values are easily perverted onto well meaning people, aka the commie playbook, like in Mao's red book. We're taught to identify and stand with others who have suffered and/or been oppressed, like the poor black victims of racism, the LGBTQ communities, or Ukrainians.... But that's not a real Jewish education which teaches about Gd and the true lessons of history in the Torah. Many are passionate, true believers though, completely brainwashed and thinking they are supporting humanity and minorities. The bottom line is that even though some nuts can't be cracked, I'm still optimistic because the awakening is increasingly taking hold.
