This fully explains why I no longer have any interest in pop culture, news, sports etc. anymore

I honestly think we are here because we can emotionally deal with losing all our “vices” easier than the normies. Then we have to drip the news to them so they don’t pass out, literally.
I haven't "lost all my vices," I've lost some of them, and redirected my energies in others. I still watch entertainment for example. In fact, I go out of my way to rewatch certain things.
I've always been a huge fan of sci-fi and fantasy. I've come to realize that they are a form of declassification. They are telling us the truth, and making us believe it is "fantasy" or "comedy." In the exact same way that they present the world with "reality" in the form of "news," that is actually a complete contrivance (fantasy), they hide reality within fantasy to make us believe that such ideas can't be true, because they are "obviously fantasy."
The truth needs an outlet, so hide it in plain sight.
Anyone who isn't watching movies and other fantasy is missing out on a huge swath of research material.
Just watched The Popes Exorcist w Russell Crowe (firestick, havent paid the beast since 2016) and, honestly, if this movie re: the Vatican and 200 Fallen Angels exist in the way portrayed as some kind of "exposure" then... we're in good shape bc one of Gods soldiers (Crowe) is a hero, and we're currently dismantling the other 199 demons which remain underground ww.
Sorry for the spoilers ;)
Watch the Strange Angel series !
It’s crazy, I was a huge sports junkie. Was a huge Phil’s Eagles fan. Got tears in my eyes when they won the SB. Last year when they went to the SB, I couldn’t have cared less.
Sportsball is so bad for humanity, it just turns men into zombies in colorful jerseys. 24/7 TV made it so much worse but man, I just don't understand how guys can get absolutely LOST in this shit. Rattling off stats and plays and all the other shit that has absolutely zero impact on their actual lives. At least politics have some kind of partial impact in our lives.
Back in the late 90's my (then) beloved Denver Broncos FINALLY won a Super Bowl, back to back even, after losing 4 previous attempts. My life didn't change, other than fodder to use against other ball busting sportfags. Nope, same ol' me. Was same with the Avalanche winning their 2nd Cup last yr. Same ol' boring me.
So anyways, what I'm tryna say is.... Goooo Nuggets we got this baybeeee (lmao jus playin) ;)
Thank you for writing "couldn't have cared less". I find it so irksome when people say they could care less.
We gave up TV in the mid nineties due to relentless Monica Lewinsky coverage. It took 2 weeks to withdraw, but after that we were free to think and use our own time.
This is awesome!
Do you still consume radio?
My thing has always been local/regional radio shows.
Manipulation. Narcissism. Predation.
"They Live"
If it wasn't for my hobbies, I don't know what I would do as I too feel the same way. These things simply no longer interest me at all.
As just one example, from the early 90s as a teen I started noticing how mainstream films were become progressively... dirtier. Constant pushing of boundaries with regard to swearing, nudity, drugs. Gore had never bothered me funnily enough as it seems that for the time whilst it relied on practical effects, there tended to be a 'morality' at the core of horror/shockers that the protagonists' demises were justified by their transgressive behaviour. But even that went out the window with CGI and the ability to just make OTT albeit horribly fake bloody scenes for their own sake with minimal technical skill.
As regards to the swearing etc, I was very much into etymology and semantics and fascinated by expressive use of language, wit, nuances etc. As movies' dialogue became progressively cruder and basic, I quickly got jaded by it as there was no enrichment to found from wasting 90 minutes on such 'entertainment'.
This is an interesting phenomenon.
The extremist-Left will swear up and down that Video games/music/TV shows don't have an effect on violence or behavior in general.
Then in the next breath they will tell you that Alex Jones needs to be banned because he's promoting [insert random -ist/-phobe].
One thing to keep in mind is mass media outside of print is still only about 100 years old. Things were always going to be cheaper and more accessible. The leap from silent movies to personal video broadcasting is an absolutely amazing one and meant it was going to gain a more cultural focus than it had previously. Similarly, pornography became much more widely available and specific to it's audience.
This progress was always going to happen. The great failure is that it was captured and it no longer belongs to the people. It lives in a period of stunted growth now just replaying and reproducing the things that were popular at the time of this capture, no longer allowed to grow, no longer allowed to be the voice of the people directly.
Is this why it seems like all modern movies and television shows seem terrible?
Is it because I am more awake? Or is it because the writers are more woke? Both? Something else?
Stand back for minute and evaluate the percentage of what passes for entertainment these days deals with death. Their are stats out there about how many deaths we 'witness' via TV per hour of watching. It is not healthy!!! This is why we have to unplug and get about the business of LIVING our lives.
It’s like looking at the matrix and seeing the code
It's wild how not participating happened to me automatically. And, I don't miss any of it. I was a reality show junkie for years. Ugh
Life was never meant to be a spectator sport. Get out and DO things instead of watching others. Experience instead of escape in mindless entertainment.
I watch anime and wresting. No propaganda if you know what to watch
AEW got a tranny in the womens division so I never gave them the time of day
Go local, small or indie. Be it for sports (play instead of watch, or watch local leagues), or arts (support small and/or beggining artists, be it music, painting, comics, video games, etc). As for the news, know where to look, but focus on what directly affects you first.
I hear this a lot...
I dunno. I really believe that some people are able to section off this shit in their brains and not be too damaged by it.
For me personally, I have always been WAY too damn inquisitive/nosy/whatever-the fuck you want to call it to NOT look. My friends would give me shit all the time for reading/watching/consooming MSNBCNN articles and shows like I'm some kind of leftist or a traitor and the fact is, I know it's all propaganda. I just want to consume it from as many angles as I can to form the best opinion I can on any given topic.
I suppose everyone is different though and a lot of people are not mature/resilient enough? To be exposed to the machine for long periods of time?
The latest woke meltdown over the Little Mermaid has been fascinating to say the least. The left has now resorted to AI bots review/comment bombing on Rotten Tomatoes and YouTube. Local news has even got in on the act with a bunch of black girls on camera all gushing over how Ariel "looks like me!" - looks total coached, fake, and gheeeeey. And lots of other media outlets are now proclaiming the movie a success, that the "haters" are a bigoted minority, etc. I've never seen such a full court press to defend some woke pile of crap movie before.
In our family, we watch VTN or watch local weather. VTN is a Christian channel by the way.
My family member now called CNN "The liars report." So funny.
I don't watch TV. I don't keep up with the latest anything, except for the very few songs that come out occasionally.
I really like to watch old TV shows and listed to old time radio shows. "Fibber McGee & Molly" and "The Jack Benny Show" are just as funny as anything from modern TV that I've seen recent clips of.
I spend a lot of time listening to old records from my collection and working on genealogy. I have all the classics from the 80s back to over 100 years ago. Some of the oldest ones are funny, although being racist, they can't be played on radio now. BTW, pretty much every single old racist record made was written by Yankees and recorded by Yankees. And a high proportion of those people are of the "group" that we're not supposed to notice own way too much.
OTR FTW
In code for most people, but I know "Old Time Radio." For anyone who wants to listen to the old shows, many thousands are available on Archive.org.
learn to love the propaganda. it wouldn't be necessary if you weren't a threat
So true!
Best meme ever.
This is so true. I was shopping at Ross today, and they had the more expensive purses upfront. The first one I saw said Calvin Klein on it. The first thing I thought was… Pedophile child traffickers. Moving on.
Exactly!!
OMG! This describes me to a tee. I unplugged MSM 3 years ago. Now all I see is everything stated in this meme!
Nice to know its not just me….
Bread and circuses
Spouse wanted to screen an old Spielberg movie for the family this weekend and I could not sit still for it. I know those kids were abused and it makes me sick and angry.
(Edit- I went to the Sound of Freedom site and Paid it Forward. They should get to 2 million tickets by July 4.)
It's a blessing and a curse.
Radio--Newspaper-------->>>>TVTyrants, pedophiles, and criminals.
We dont have a tv. My wife and I used to still watch some shows now and then on Prime but over the past year theyve seemed like such a waste of time. Shell still watch things occasionally but she usually fast forward though a good chunk of the shows. I mostly just read or tinker.
Yep same My husband is slowly becoming one of us but is still somewhat a normie. He said we aren't going to movies anymore, because he knows I won't enjoy them the same way he does. Once you're down that rabbit hole, you can't go back lol. I told him we can both enjoy movies, just in different ways lol.
