The worst symptoms lasted for about half a day, and I had chest pain and a bad cough. Over all it wasn't that bad at all but I'm a pretty healthy person. Each time I had it it only lasted a few days because I used some powerful remedies to quickly stop the infection. I know that it was an infection because I live in an area where I have complete control over what I eat and drink, so unless secret agents came and poised my home made food or spring water its pretty much impossible that I had ingested some sort of snake venom derived type of poison (I'm not saying this didn't happen to some people). All I'm saying is that I definitely caught COVID and it had symptoms consistent with covid19: loss of taste and smell and chest pain cough.

Are they both suffering from malnutrition, due to bills needing to be paid? Are they both grieving for a family member who passed away? Are they having arguments? In which case, both partners might come down with some immunity compromise.

As an aside - The latter (i.e. qualitative reasoning) is still very much frowned upon, and not really encouraged in academia. I can point to recent examples of 'templates' or a 'study guide', for a Master's thesis, that only marginally allowed for qualitative 'sections' in the thesis. The faculty basically expected a cause and effect type analysis - i.e. conduct an experiment and write it up, in the centuries old format - everything had a box. The many causes and effects that were identified during the early stages, were dismissed as 'confusing'. LOLOL.
IMO qualitative theses do exist, for example in law, or religion, but most faculties just want to be like 'science'. And in the case of disease, people automatically expect to see 'science'. There is ONE university in the world, in Finland, that even has a 'philosphy of humanities', as opposed to 'philosophy of science' paper. And of course, there is the whole woke ideology that jumps into this, feet first, so one can understand 'normy' academics shying away from qualitative analysis.

There are new subvariants emerging all the time. Currently, the XBB subvariant of Omicron is circulating. There are plenty of versions of it because it's an RNA-based virus and they mutate. CDC lists half a dozen of them as "variants of concern." The virus has not stopped circulating, nor has it stopped mutating. Accordingly the "trusted authorities" are still tracking and still have lists of VOCs.
Virology tells us that viruses will generally mutate for their own perpetuation (I won't call it survival b/c the "life" of viruses is debatable). They mutate to become more transmissible and less lethal. They evolve to keep the hosts alive and capable of making new copies of the virus. That's what has happened with this virus.

Thanks for actually telling people the truth Moose_Antlers! I personally contracted COVID multiple times. It wasn't like any flue I'd ever had. The worst symptoms lasted for about half a day, and I had chest pain and a bad cough. Over all it wasn't that bad at all but I'm a pretty healthy person. Each time I had it it only lasted a few days because I used some powerful remedies to quickly stop the infection. I know that it was an infection because I live in an area where I have complete control over what I eat and drink, so unless secret agents came and poised my home made food or spring water its pretty much impossible that I had ingested some sort of snake venom derived type of poison (I'm not saying this didn't happen to some people). All I'm saying is that I definitely caught COVID and it had symptoms consistent with covid19: loss of taste and smell and chest pain cough.
