Sitting in office across the way. I'm friendly with my neighbor even though he is the Democrat candidate for a local position. He's not a woketard and is convinced all of that crap is what will sink him if he doens't win.
So this nice volunteer and older guy I noticed before. Has maybe a little TBI. Talks slow. He starts going off on on MAGA Republicans. I tell him I'm actually MAGA but not really much of a Republican anymore. I lay into it.
"I tell you friend, why is it Democrats give you what they promise? We get nothing when we win. Why is it every single time for every year, we never get anything but promises and disappointment. And I'll tell you what, you guys were right about Iraq. I was wrong. George Bush is a traitor and should be tried for war crimes. He is a liar and Republicans are just a different brand of the same uniparty.. a uniparty that is united against just one guy for some reason. Why is it all the politically powerful can't stand Donald Trump? What has Donald Trump gained?. Why is it everyone else gets richer when they get into politics. Donald Trump was already rich. He's gotten poorer. He was already famous. He couldn't become more famous. He didn't need to become president or some other politician, but the rest of them sure do. And think about this, Ted Cruz' wife works for Goldman Sachs, ffs. Sure Ted Cruz has a whole constitutional scholar act he puts on to fund raise off of, but he is a total phony owned by the central bankers. Lindsay Graham? Nevermind, I don't want to relive all this, just trust me, you can't possibly detest Republicans more than I do. I was abused and lived through the lies and lies. I passionately defended their lies. Good Lord. It really seemed a lightbulb went off. He got what I was saying. Maybe because I admitted my own mistakes in believing George Bush and the rest of our government's perpetual lie machine . Maybe it was just the logic. But he was really getting it.

We need more people modelling this behaviour: admitting you were wrong, admitting you were fooled by false authorities. It makes it easier for others to do so.
This is what it means to repent. Find specific, embarrassing ways to confess your ignorance and do it publicly. Others will follow.
It's that, the human element and the acknowledgement that you made a mistake and now regret your former opinions and actions (implied; voting etc), which probably opened your friend up to change.
Logic means almost nothing where feelings are involved.
There are a lot of liberals out there that know the reality. Most have never met a real MAGA person and talked about all of it.
I bet they know a lot of MAGA people, people like the OP, but don't realize it because we MAGA folks don't always go around wearing MAGA hats or shirts or whatever. Obviously a lot of people do, but so many people (Repubs that is, not Dems) are MAGA that even I didn't realize until I sit down and have an actual chat with them.
don't forget that whichever RINO or Dem that gets in, the country always moves closer & closer to communism.

I have found most of my Democrat neighbors were genuinely suprised when I agreed with them about the corruption in the Republican party & discussed specifics with them.
They know I am a complete Trump supporter & were blown away when I agreed that the Covid lockdown that started under his watch was BS. They of course all begged to be kept safe as the fear porn kept being shoved on the airways & cables, though they did not expect me to say I do not think that any martial law would be appropriate for Covid.
I have genuine discussions based on my sincerely held beliefs regarding constitutional freedoms & individual liberties & call BS on both parties. It has allowed for some much better discussions around Trump & various parts of the plan when they see I am no too worried about the next "thing".
You framed it right we got screwed by boos and realize we supported a fake WMD story. We are not believing the lies anymore. It's time for democrats to see they are being lied to and manipulated by their political overlords
I have my son and DIL staying with me for five weeks waiting on their new house to close. She is super liberal. But a very sweet and caring girl, we love her to pieces. We agree to disagree and don’t discuss politics EVER! He was complaining about how their savings is way down, so I took the opportunity to remind him who our President was when they had all that saved up. It was the first time in 20+ YEARS he didn’t reply. Did not say a freaking word! He always gets the last word! I had him!!!! The next five weeks are going to be so much fun. Slowly I’m going to red pill the SHIT out of them. They don’t even see it coming. I hope to see their light bulbs go off. I’ll have to keep y’all posted. 😃
I've had conversations with people and concluded they were very conservative, Republican types only to find out they vote Democrat because...their family always has. Many people have no idea what's going on.
